Injected nitro was run in todays name of TAD well before it was called TAD
Correct. A/FDs have been around since the '60s, for that matter so have A/FCs. For those that remember Pro Comp, it had every combo you could think of. When Pro Comp became TAD and TAFC in '81, the A/Fuel FC option went away, literally until 2023. Regarding the dragsters, I think there's been a resurgence in the blown alky combo, and parity is as good as it's ever been. I would love to see that happen in TAFC, and I think it still can. Regarding the proposed detuned big show cars being added to the mix, I'm not sure about that being good or bad yet.

Pro Comp was soooooo cool! Adams & Enriques had an A/FC, maybe not Don Enriquez driving??? I only remember 2 A/FC that were competitive. Other was Lorry Azevedo (sp?) in the Drummer, which later went AA/FC.

Of course. A/FD and A/FC. "Mr. Injected Nitro" Don Enriquez tuned most of the top competitors. I enjoyed those classes thoroughly; I'd like to see them rise again and get out of Top Alcohol. Probably not enough entries today to fill 4 separate classes, especially the funnies, but I'd stand in line to watch.

Raise your hand if you'd like to see the return of Pro Comp.👍

As a kid I was fanatical about Pro Comp. But, the reasons why it didn't last would be the same today. When the class began, there were all kinds of combinations of cars and engine combos. As it matured, the blown alky combo began to be the most popular, and eventually the AA/DAs would win more consistently than the BB/FCs, leading to NHRA splitting them into 2 classes. At least that's how I remember it, LOL. Racers will always gravitate to the combination that is the fastest and most consistent. I would just be happy to see the TAFC class of today enjoy a nice mix of blown alky and A/F cars like the TAD category does.

I'd rather see it all-alcohol but to be honest I like the injected nitro FC's too. Watched a lot of them back in the day when they ran A/FC. Too bad NHRA felt they needed to stifle the new combination a bit but I suppose I can understand, after Bellemeur ran 5.28@283mph in testing before the 2025 season even started.

The big question mark is whether the Torrances will come back for the full pull or will they be busy doing infrastructure work in Venezuela for the next few years? Based on the images I've been seeing, that looks like a gold mine for their business.
