They're back...

i frequently listen to interviews by music producer rick beato on his youtube channel. he recently traveled to toronto
to do separate interviews with geddy and alex, and well as rush's long time producer terry brown and also eddie kramer
who produced for some the great in 60's and 70's. all four interviews are great and worth the time, if you're a music fan.
here is the link to rick's channel.
In my earlier days I used to crank knobs and pull sliders for a few local acts and probably should have chased the dream (coulda, shoulda, woulda!) so I still have a special place in my heart for the behind the scenes magicians. It's a FACT that the artists always perform better than ever with the best available lights, sound goodies that makes magic come to fruition. Mad respect for Martin! 🦾💪

I've watched Rick for quite a while now and I can vouch for Mike - he too, will NOT disappoint.
Some of the shenanigans that the labels were pulling (and still may be) are pure lowlife scum tactics to attempt to discredit a great human.
Mr Beato is a stand-up guy and tho I can't say I've watched everything, he's as genuine and great as mentioned.

I recall one with David Gilmore and it too was a great production for the common man to understand the devotion these artists put into their craft.
I'll have to check the listings and fire up the video downloader built-in to Linux for more episodes.😉

Very nice to hear Geddy is enjoying the work Martin puts forth as well...

VERY close to GO time

@Martin Thomas
If I may ask, what's "FoH at R-50"??
All I was thinking of was Front Of House @ Row 50...lol
Lot more'N 50 rows tho!
:)
@Robert Snarski -You got the Front of House part right; its where audio, lighting (me), content video and the long cameras are... seating behind this area is an absolutely obstructed view, and are not sold. Seating in front is limited to 125' from the stage to the sound board. Great seats for this show, but I've been wandering around the arena while Howard has been learning his cues on the console and it looks and sounds great everywhere.
R50-s is short for Rush Fifty-something, and yeah- a few more than 50 rows 😄

Wh00P!!! @@$$$ZZZ!!!
: )

So I guess now is a good time to ask who Howard is and why didn't I see him in the list??

Since I saw programmer - I guess the CGI works how? Was there licensing hooey - or did some brass handle all that??

You do incredible work Sir, I am beyond impressed!

Howard Ungerleider is the Tour Lighting Designer (he started with the band before Neil did -!!!). He is the third name down on the left side of the list- El Jefè Grandé!!

I program the lighting system for the tour, so no CGI involved. We also have a few other companies involved with the creation of video content (THAT uses CGI and AI as its foundation). Howard operates (he is the shoe), our 6 man touring crew for lighting builds it for every show (they are the wrenchs) and in drag racing parlance, I would be the guy that puts the information in the "box" before we send it, as well as operating some portions of the system during the event.

As you can tell by all the screenshot below, we have a pretty expansive layout.
