OMG...now that's funny!!

If it's real..how in the hell are they going to enforce that??

And to state:

"Actions of this nature are not in the best interest of the sport."

Again..what in the hell does NHRA management know about what is best for this sport..given their fargin actions?

How exactly is this rule going to be enforced? Let's say a top 8 driver goes against a non-top 8 driver who happens to be a teammate, and the one outside the countdown smokes the tires at the hit. How are they (the NHRA officials) going to know or find out if it was a "take one for the team" move or just a regular tire smoker?

Could we be seeing unnecessary penalties because of this?

So if a non countdown driver is racing a countdown teammate & redlights giving the win to the countdown driver what will NHRA do?

so far i counted 3 dives, if there turn out to be several more, i think u can bet that the countdown format will be tweaked somewhat or maybe even banished. Or maybe they can just rename it 'The Countdive to the Championship' :D

Any attempt to enforce such a rediculous mandate will make them look far less credible than Graham Light did on-screen during the Steve Johnson finish-line camera dispute (which was later reversed leaving enough egg on their faces to provide Shumacher's entire team with omlet breakfasts for an entire event)

If this is true, what the hell did they expect to happen when they put this crappy ass points system in place. We hardly ever had it before, now its prone to happen alot more and I cant blame the owners.

Not sure how much weight this thing carries, but it came one race too late already.

If anybody ever wondered whether NHRA is ran by a bunch of morons this should remove all doubt! I just imagine how they're going to try to police this. What if it is two teammates and the underdog does smoke the tires, redlights, gets tree'd, etc,...are they going to hire psychics and mind-readers to figure out if it really was a dive?

doesnt this just mean the teams just wont be upfront about it.

yes......you won't see any Jeff Arend type dives....which isnt a dig at Jeff or the CSK team at all....i dont really like what they did (as a fan), but completely understand it (from a business standpoint).

Admittedly, I've been on the "let's see how this thing plays out" side of the fence but if this is real, then I've really lost a lot of faith in the organization.
