In regards to the motorcycle issue

"The marketing department shouldn't run the tech department"

Say it like it is, I love it. Sad thing in issues like this perception is reality. Even if all is/was above aboard it looks bad and steps needed to be done to along the way to dispel those issues. I would like to think they will learn something and apply it in the future but .....

Got to love him...lol... and i loved the NHRA response interview... when asked to explain... ..basicly.... Its been in the works for over a year.. Harley just didn't want anyone to know...lol......

Yea-I loved that quote. I was suprised that in the "news to note" talking about who was without a ride/without a sponsor, they didnt mention that GB III wasnt on the grounds.
Also--hats off to Ryan + team Muzzy for making the show!

While Steve was whining about "You have to look at qualifying" he must have missed the fact that a Suzuki was the number 1 qualifier.

I thought he did mention they had the TQ?...and a few others got some Tq's also....but suggested looking at the number of race wins and championships? .... have to go back and watch it again....

Billy,

I believe he said "You can't look at race wins, you have to look at qualifying" He did mention that he won a couple of races, but that he just got lucky.

If I'm wrong please correct me.

I believe you're are correct that is what he said. I remember somebody else pointing out the stats before and it was slanted in one way already.

ok.. wasn't sure my self.. after the marketing dept line i laughed so hard milk bout came out my nose... and i forgot everything else...lol. (haven't drank milk in a week... sooo....lol...)

I get the point hes making. Red lights+getting tree'd are things that make it so the fastest bike isn't always the winner. Qualifying goes to the quickest.

Heres something to think about: remember when the news 1st broke that VH got the ok for the 4 valve head? The said they were at a meeting with NHRA and members from other teams about ok-ing the DSR 'busa motor. It sounded like there was a round table determining if the motor would get the nod. But somehow VH managed to get an ok for theirs in secret?
