It appears that tOSU is having a bad case of the Oklahomas.
Maybe it's the stadium or the fact that the letters "O" and "U" appear in their school's initials.

I'm pukin' up gator tails right now! this is a dream right??? tell me I'll wake up tomorrow and it'll be OK!!!! The Buckeyes are not in this game, so unlike a Tressel prepared Team.

Well this just sucks!!! All good things must come to an end & they just blew apart tonight!! My BUCKEYES were awful!! It wasn't even a game!!
I am stunned!!! But I'll be cheering for them when the new season starts!!
I hate for this thread to end, it was alot of fun!! Thanks everyone!!!
I am goin to drown my sorrows right now, tomorrow is another day!!!:)

I can`t believe Ohio State laid an egg in their biggest game of the year...Boise State finishes undefeated, so I guess they end up 1#, right? I love it, who would have thought the Broncos would actually have a shot at the top spot (yeah, I know it`s not going to happen) in the final polls.

i guess i can say that i am surprised, but not shocked......a 51 day layoff is just too much, no matter how good the team is, as this is evidence of.......it's one more thing that would be solved by a playoff, there would be know long layoffs, because the playoff would be the 1st or 2nd week of december

41-14.....i know all to well the pain of being on the wrong end of that score!!! Well come to the losers club teri and kenny!!!

i believe tim's horns and kelly and gary's tigers are the lone winners out of all of our teams

Not so fast my friend (borrowed that from Lee Corso) When the 1 & 2 BCS teams play, the winner is the BCS Champion. Now,Boise State could wind up # 1 in the other poll but I doubt it very seriously. The SEC is the toughest conference IMHO and Florida lost only one game,to my Auburn Tigers.

WAR EAGLE

I watched the "media darlings" get out coached, out played, out hit, out run and out thought --- twice. Both in the same stadium one week apart?

Auburn will leave Florida with the stigma of a tainted championship since Boise State faltered to no one!

82 yards of total offense? 9 in the second half? Really? No game is won before it's been played regardless of what the media says. Tonight's entire game was lopsided!

Sorry Florida but you're not the real champs until you better Boise State!

Doc is right about the out-coached part. Layoff didn't matter..OSU wasn't out-hustled..they weren't even out played. THEY WERE OUT-COACHED..pure and simple.

Ohio State played their hearts out..but there was no plan. Gators could go 7 yds every play because the linebackers were helping to cover the 4-5 wide-outs..so if they covered the 7yds they would have went deep. OSU started a running game but didn't try to stay with it..pfft..embarrassing.

Basically, I'm pissed because it's always the same old song and dance..Big 10 stronger, etc..but it's always the same.

Congrats to the Gators..they earned it.

good grief I was finally ok if they won but then the buckeyes blew it and now I can't even enjoy it and gloat becasue I feel bad for Teri. Darn those buckeyes

I know what its like to have your team stink it up in the bowl game.

congrats to Boise St my vote for #1 :)

Wow, this was some wild set of BCS games! It certainly would've been hard to predict that tOSU would get dominated like that but it's happened to pretty much all the big-time schools / coaches at least once... Bobby Bowden, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, Bob Stoops, Mack Brown, Tom Osborne, etc., etc. Nobody is immune to having things get out of hand every once in a while.

Obviously the feel-good story of the year is the Tater Aggies of BSU, what an awesome year they've had! It looks like they ended up #5 in the AP getting 1 vote for the #1 spot. It'll be interesting to see if they're able to sustain the level of play that they exhibited this year. Hopefully they'll either be able to schedule stronger non-conference opponents or move to a stronger conference in order to get the shot at the year-end honors that they'd like to have. Since a conference move is probably way out of the question, I'm anxious to see if they have any success getting the "name" programs to schedule home-and-home games with them. They may have to say adios to the blue field in order to make that happen.(?)

Of course, the greatest thing about college football is that the next season is only 8 months away!!!

I was just surprised they stunk so bad. They kinda fooled us with that opening kick off, at least they had that shining moment!! I guess Troy Smiths stock really went down also.:( Just as PJ, Dave, Mike, Tom & Terry did, I'll survive. Dave, how does it feel not to have to drink out of the dreaded mug???? Coffee taste a little bit better today??:) I think Iam gonna go for a little therapy today...........retail therapy that is!!!:p

Hi, Teri! My condolences--(I got to see the game) I too was surprised at Florida's dominance--the OSU touchdown kick return had me thinking it was going to be the blowout I kind of expected, but it kinda went downhill from there. Chin up! You are in good company with people with Ls tattooed on their heads from the bowl season! OSU, OU, NU, ND, and Michican will be back, and congrats to Kelly and Tim for having teams that upheld our honor here on the mater. Keep in touch and try to have a good day. We're feeling your pain.

I was kinda surprised to the outcome of that game. I was pulling for the SEC team, I'm not a real big fan of Florida but I think the SEC is one of if not the tuffest conference out there! I truely don't think the layoff has anything to do with it Ohio state had big layoff's before in the past and it didn't seem to hurt them in the bowl games. Like others have said here it appears they were just out coached, Florida just picked apart Ohio's zone coverage.

That wasn't an "egg" by OSU, that wasn't a problem with a 50 day layoff, Florida had a 38 day layoff..... That was a Big 10 team getting exposed by a DOMINANT SEC defense. No one should be surprised that OSU gave up 41, they gave up 39 to Mich. Now Troy Smith going 4-14 for 34 yards... He was lost against that defense...

As I've said before. come play 12 weeks in the SEC & see if you make it through undefeated. It is without question the toughest conference. They are their own worst enemy nationally, because no team can breeze through the conference undeated & get to a championship game, the defense's are just too brutal.

The nation, both fans and media show a lack of respect for SEC teams, they have their media darlings that get all the press, OSU, Michigan, USC, etc... Does Auburn going undefeated & not going to a national championship game come to mind?? The game last night just magnifies that travesty...

Now Florida listened to the entire nation showing them no respect, everyone was picking OSU, some by a big margin... So much for that huh??

Does anyone remember the '95 Fiesta Bowl?

Leading up to the '95 Fiesta Bowl all the experts were saying that Nebraska didn't have chance against Florida's vaunted Run-n-Gun offense, that NU's defense had never seen anything like UF's receivers, and that UF's defense was to fast for the "sluggish" Nebraska option attack...

It was exactly the same leading up to last nights game. All the experts were claiming that Ohio State had to many weapons and were to physical. Heck, USA Today's expert gave the advantage to Ohio State in all but one category.

Troy Smith looked like he had a lead weight in his ass last night the way the Florida defensive tackles were able to run him down. And suffice it say that the OSU defensive backs hadn't seen any talent remotely close to what they saw in the UF receivers before last night.

Last night was a perfect example of how all the "experts" don't really know dick. The Big 10 is over-hyped year in and year out and it's proven just about every year about this time.

Congrats to the Gators!!

Tom, why do you call them 'tater aggies'? BSU is not an agricultural institute, perhaps you`re confusing them with the Univ. of Idaho up north (but somehow I doubt that). Hard to believe Boise was a Div. 1-AA school a little over ten years ago, but that program has enjoyed tremendous success throughout its history.

Bobby, I'm a former ASU student and UofA alumni who grew up in Tempe during the Frank Kush era of the WAC and I know how it feels to be part of a disrespected conference. Good football is good football no matter what the conference and who is playing. That being said, I don't agree that Boise State deserves the #1 ranking just because they were the only undefeated team in the nation. They didn't play the caliber of teams that Florida did and that is a known fact. I agree (as does Urban Meyer) that a playoff is the only real way to find out who is the best, and if all the silly politics and greedy AD's of BCS schools would start seeing it too, then this discussion would not happen every year. Anyway, I've been a fan of the SEC conference for the past 18 yrs. now and I can tell you that it is as tough a conference as any out there and apparently this year, they were really tough. Florida played and WON some huge games in very difficult and hostile stadiums the likes of which can almost rival OSU and Michigan's stadiums and fans. Florida's football stadium is nicknamed "The Swamp" and it is also a very very hostile and difficult place for ANY team to come and play and it's capacity is close to 100,000 fans and believe me, Gator fans are loyal and rabid. I think Ohio State believed too much of what the press and all their cocky fans were saying, and as Urban Meyer stated, that gave Florida all the motivation they needed to go out and prove everyone wrong. OSU was back on their heels from the moment that the Gators touched the football for the first time. And Florida even had to overcome a 7-0 deficit before they even had a chance to touch the ball. Suffice it to say, this was not a great football game unless you were a Gator fan. Even I lost interest once it was obvious that OSU was not coming back in the 2nd half, yet stayed up beyond midnight (here in Florida) to watch the very end and some of the postgame celebration. OSU just wasn't prepared or didn't have any answers and Florida never let down. Florida's defense won the game for them, but their offense got the job done, even if not spectacular. Sorry to Teri, PJ, Tom and many others whose teams lost their bowl games. Oh, and I too agree the 51 days since OSU last played is absolutely ridiculous and this game should NOT have been played a week after New Years Day!
