Teryy, I have no doubt that the Cornhuskers can handle OU!!! Texas played both teams this year and I can tell you that Nebraska has a very balanced team compared to OU. If Texas was playing Nebraska (texas before the "slump") I would be very worried about getting blown out by Nebraska.

Shame on Bob! I'm SURE if Callahan had any tricks up his sleeve for this weekend, he'd be sure to share them with with Bob! Did some thinkin' about this upcoming game last night concerning OSU. OU beat OSU in a pretty close game, but OSU really dismantled us. Granted it wasn't our best game we played, but we didn't seem to be able to deal with OSU at all except for our patented 1st quarter fireworks. That being said, based on that comparison, we're in trouble this weekend. What do you think about validity of comparison scores, Tom?

A comparison based on the above is useless. Any game between competitive teams can be won or lost on any given play.

That's great news! Don't tell Tom, but I think the Huskers are gonna need all the help they can get. OU may very well be the 2nd best team in the country right now...although it pains me to admit it. I'm also guessing the Michigan fans will probably disagree with that observation, huh?

See above re: comparison of 2 competitive teams. OU’s head was still spinning from the great Oregon debacle by the time we got to Dallas plus our team has matured by leaps and bounds since then, in fact we haven’t lost a game since.

I’ll say this… it’s a damn intriguing match-up on nearly every level. The Husker offense is liable to score from anywhere while our defense has grown into a solid bunch that’s capable of stopping anybody from anywhere. If all of our running backs are playing in the B12 game (and there's a chance they will be) then you’ve got 3 serious threats to break a big running play any time they touch the ball. Think about this; who do you cover if both Adrian Peterson AND Allen Patrick line up in the backfield? Or if those 2 and Chris Brown alternate all night then they’ll all be fresh for the entire game. I guarantee you that the Blackshirt coaches are agonizing over this little issue even as we type. If OU has success with the running game early then the Huskers are really in trouble when they start loading the box to stop the run because the play action will terrorize them in the defensive backfield.

I think this game has the potential to be one of the all-time great Dirt Burglar Vs. Bugeater games ever, and man have we had some great ones over the years!

Great analysis, Tom! But as much as it pains me right now to say this, from what I have seen of OU playing this year, they are vastly underrated. If not for the Oregon screw job (which I was watching) the OU record looks vastly different. I agree the bugeaters can score from anywhere at any time, but some time that time doesn't come often enough in the second half! And I do have some concerns about stopping that running game. Carraker can't do it all for us. But I do hope it is a close one! I think it could be a great matchup if the Huskers are able to play up to potential for 4 quarters. Otherwise, it could be a long afternoon for the NU faithful. And PJ, what was so awful about the bowl game last year to make you hate us so much???

Maybe I can help you feel better about your situation. It could be worse ... This morning I took my first sip from the ugliest coffee mug I have ever had to use. I almost choked and I feel nauseous now. I'm stuck with this awful thing until the morning after the national championship game at which point I'm painting a sledge hammer maize and blue and destroying it! Vengeance WILL be mine!
