That has more to do with the snap on trademark they don't need to licence him the trademark or they can pick and choose what he is allowed to use the logo on. That's a two way street the sponsor needs to want him to use the logo on his merchandise and not theirsIf memory serves me right Cruz and Snap-On have had a relationship since 1992. I have said this on Facebook several times it's common knowledge that the money from Snap-On is nowhere near the money other teams are getting. I think Cruz uses Snap-On as a magnet hoping to attract other sponsor(s). However Cruz needs to look at how he is currently marketing himself, his team and his image. Cruz doesn't have merch on the NHRA site. When you go to cruzpedregon.com very little of what's offered has Snap-On or their logo other than new and used crew shirts. Fans want to support the "Snap-On" car and driver. Look at other racers sites or the Nitro mall if you think I'm wrong. Finally if he's not getting the money he needs/deserves to run a competitive operation perhaps it's time to change or hire a PR person or group who knows sports marketing like everyone else has. Just my .02 on the subject.
True but if Cruz is sponsored by Snap-On and they are already on the car, trailer, crew uniforms, press releases/press kits you would think Snap-On would want to be on the mech also. Something just doesn't seem right when compared to what our sponsors wanted and what the other teams racing today are doing. That has more to do with the snap on trademark they don't need to licence him the trademark or they can pick and choose what he is allowed to use the logo on. Here i will make it easier for you they are a direct to consumer brand so their most marketable item is their trade make. They have a massive apparel line as seen here https://snapongear.corpmerchandise.com/category/8053 they don't pay top of the market for sponsorship. They will allow it on crew shirts because they don't sell a comparable product but if they do they won't allow it. Good or bad it is what it is. Thank God they fund his ride to keep him full yearTrue but if Cruz is sponsored by Snap-On and they are already on the car, trailer, crew uniforms, press releases/press kits you would think Snap-On would want to be on the mech also. Hi Matt well aware of the Snap-On merch since several of my friends are in key positions there. Here is Crus's site the lack of logoed product here is what I'm referring to https://www.cruzpedregon.com/Here i will make it easier for you they are a direct to consumer brand so their most marketable item is their trade make. Yes im aware of the products offered by cruz(Great Black Friday sale) but your missing the point they don't give him full trade mark access. He can do the crew shirts as they don't compete with a similar product snap on offers. Not having full trade mark access limits the products offered. That's creates a limited amount of snap on related products he can offer as to the generic funny car onesHi Matt well aware of the Snap-On merch since several of my friends are in key positions there. Wow....From NHRA.com
https://nhra.com/news/2025/it-s-been-super-silly-silly-season-so-far-what-looms-pri-show
After the best season of his career, Paul Lee confirmed his regrettable return to a part-time schedule in 2026 due to import tariffs affecting his businesses. Crew chief Jonnie Lindberg has left the team to pursue a full-time role elsewhere. John Medlen remains with Paul Lee Racing in hopes of the team landing sponsorship before the season begins.
If I was JFR I'd grab himWonder where Lindberg is headed???
Can somebody tell me the appeal of buying a ''worn by a crew member '' shirt for $100.00 ????? Truthfully, I wouldn't buy a new one for that much! And do they wash it for you or do you have to pay more for that??Hi Matt well aware of the Snap-On merch since several of my friends are in key positions there.
