shirley goin testin

I saw an interview with her today and it sounds like she wants to come back out but there was no talk of her testing in Herbert's car or any sponsor deal in the works.
 
I think Shirley is going try "down-play" the Testing as long as she is able to. Rember back in the mid '90's when she was racing the NHRA race Sonoma, CA and she had (thought) acquired the sponsor of Petro Molly and she even had there name on the side of her dragster for the race?? Well the contract was signed-but the $$$$ was never put into Shirley's Bank Account!!! It ended it being a BIG OL MESS!!! I can almost bet that Shirley will be making some Laps in Doug Herbert's TF Dragster on Tuesday or Wedesday. Why else would she be in Charlotte???

This would be awesome! A mate of mine in Houston is a huge Shirley fan, I will have to get him a t shirt!

That suprises me to be honest, as good as Shirley has done for this sport I just don't see any 70 Year old driver as being marketable??? But it's the sponsors $$$ so...
 
Shirley was really charming in the on-air interview during the NHRA coverage yesterday, so while she sometimes lays on the spice, she also can spread
the sugar pretty well.

I'd love to see her on the circuit again if her body can take it and I think it would really boost fan interest in the sport, but I'm worried about her getting hurt so I have mixed feelings about her driving again.

Regardless of Shirley's age she can get sponsorsip with just her name!! Then you have the the Greek.. He is pushing 90 more and more every day. He get his Sponsorship $$$$ from Stange Engerring!! If he can get $$$$-anyone can!!!:eek::eek: I said it earlier if Shirley didn't have something up her sleeve she wouldn't be coming out to the drag races...:cool:

Shirley reminds me of a guy I used to work with. Was a great person easy to get along with but didn't take crap from anyone and was never afraid to speak his mind people didn't like him for it but I can almost be certain that when he complained about something it wasn't very often that he wasn't right.

:confused: The interview I saw was an old racer rallying all the restraint she could muster to keep from speaking her true thoughts about the 4-wide.
