Really not surprised. Rickie has always run his team as a business. Hauling to Dallas doesn't make sense, with a slim chance at the championship. I hope STL wasn’t the last chance we've had to watch the master!

I will miss him at the Motorplex.
 
And proceeded to lose 1st round with both cars. So much for that strategy...
Rickie runs his cars on the soft side compared to Steve Jackson and most of the NHRA pro mod drivers. He isn’t willing to “run the rods out” and instead wants rules changes so he can run his car and not damage parts. Being he is the lone nitrous car left in competition, he isn’t forced to run it harder to keep up with other nitrous racers. In PDRA Jim Halsey, Tommy Franklin and Jay Cox will make him run it harder than he will like.
