Linda is scheduled for knee surgery Mon. at 1PM (et). It's got her a little worried cause a girlfried had knee work a few years ago, and it went very bad.

I'm sure she will be fine but, I'm a BIG believer in prayer.

Thanks folks.

Paul (ZAPPY)

Absolutely! Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers!

Get well soon Lady Linda! :)

Not only has medicine progressed exponentially but orthopedics have really jumped to the forefront of technology. Years of basketball hasn't been too kind to us. I had a total knee reconstruction called an "Andrews Reconstruction" that has been obsolete technology for over a decade. My son Dave had his knee reconstructed and went on to high jump in the College nationals, on the very knee they rebuilt, and jumped 7'0" so I'd tell her not to worry but to expect miracles instead. Of course, with anesthesia, infections, etc. things can occasionally go less than perfectly but I'll bet on a nice clean procedure that turns out very well.

Of course, we'll also keep her in our prayers for that "Other" help that is so very valuable.

Wow I can't imagine my little 5'2 mom High Jumping 7' :D

UP-DATE, Just got her home. All went pretty well. Linda does not do good with anesthesia, she's totally out of it. Totally knocks her for a loop.

They sent us home with a gizmo that circulates cold water around her knee. Ya fill it with ice and water, plug it in, thats it. (kinda an electric cool can I guess). I gave her a bell to call me when she needs to go to the bath room, so I can unplug the water hoses.

(note to self) the bell may be a bad idea.....Possibly habit forming.....

I can't tell you how much your prayers and good thoughts mean to Linda + I. Julie last Mon.-Linda this Mon.- and wouldn't ya know, I was down sick inbetween. To say it's been quite a week is a huge understatement.

But we're gettin back on track now. Again thank you and GOD bless you ALL.

(jump 7' high huh.....I'ld buy a ticket to see that)

Great news! Keep her comfortable and once she's fully recouperated, we'll all meet up at the stadium of her choice for the jump.

Oh, by the way, I bought that ticket and it was very worth the price.

Hey Zap - those cold water circulation units are great. They keep the sweeling to a minimum. Glad the both of you are doing ok.

I am late but will nonetheless keep you and the entire family in my prayers!!!!

Yeah, I'm late too Paulie. Rest assured she's in our prayers here too. Won't be long she'll be using that knee to kick your leedle tail! Just like the old days! Get well soon Lin.
