Free speech is fine, but this is a privately owned forum and they are allowed to set the rules. In a sense, you are a guest in "their" house. Don't like the rules? Don't click on the forum. Simple as that.
This was supposed to be a meta-politics thread, one where we talk about how we are going to handle politics in this forum going forwards, not actually get into political discussions. I should have known better to even start this thread.

The First Amendment begins with these words: "Congress shall make no law . . . . " It is intended to protect us from government interference as we express ourselves. There is nothing in that Amendment nor any other that guarantees an audience to listen to or read our opinions.
If the moderators want to keep political discourse separate from these threads they may do so. Chris is correct.
