The fact is, if NHRA hadn't started this whole coutndown deal, this would never happen.

NHRA needs to rethink the countdown because this will happen over and over again.

Wait a minute?? You don't believe this would happen at the end of the season in exactly the same fashion if the situation were the same and there were no countdown? How long have you been a fan? I've seen it a number of times over the years well before there was a countdown.

I'm not a fan of the countdown. I'm a fan of Wilkerson being crowned the 2008 Champion due to winning more than anyone else the entire year but since it's a foregone conclusion that it exists, we'll have to face two dramas each year:

Getting in the countdown and winning the countdown in the end.

bravo!!! Bravo!!!

Must be a WWE fan, because that is what we saw today in Indy. Props to the Pedregon's for calling out this BS. I blame the NHRA for allowing it, grow some balls and DQ both Hight and Force and I will bet that will put an end to this nonsense. Race heads up, NHRA has a rule against what we saw today and it is time to enforce it. In the heat of the battle in Brainerd, the Pedregon brothers raced heads up like that sport was designed.

F*ck Force and F*ck the NHRA.

For the sheep that can't see that John didn't dive despite the rules, keep drinking the Kool Aid.

Like Tony P. said....John should be ashamed of himself.

I agree 100%! For those who think John didn't dive, get over yourselves.

So replace Graham Light with Rich Christensen? :D

Paul, you need to get over it along with all the other people *****ing about it. Everyone knew Robert was going to win that round. What the difference between going up there, making it look like a race, or redlighting or just keeping it parked in the pits. Personally, it was me, I'd left my car there and let Robert take a single. There isint anything NHRA's going to do. They cant prove anything. They are the reason for this kinda crap anyways.

You can blame your beloved clowndown buddy. Plain and simple. Dont you love it now? Isint it the best? Awesome. I think you should write your buddies Compton and Light and let them know how much you enjoy it.

they are both wrong for what they did...john obviously took a dive and i believe should be suspended one race for striking an official. the dive is hard to prove, but blatantly obvious.

cruz and tony just reinforced their lack of class by whining to what was probably the nhra's biggest audience of the year. this certainly can't help their sponsor woes, and will probably exacerbate things.

Does anyone remember the finals at Pomona a few years ago when Tony P. drove for JFR? John was first in points, Whit was second and Tony was third. In the final John blew the tires off at the hit, which gave Tony second in the points, pushed Whit to third. That was really obvious. Then there was Larry Minor and Gary Beck. Nothing new they now have to be more creative!

I'm doing all of you one better.....I say that Tasca threw the race to Hight before he ever got to John. Chute out early, off the throttle early....never did see Bob after that round. But he was sitting right there with Neff when the next round rolled around.....I was watching Hight and Tasca stage and I turned to my wife and said, watch Tasca drop this one....just my opinion. Ford is Ford....Tasca is Force....all the same....

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Countdown has nothing to do with this because if the points were tight in the old format the same kind of crap would happen.

He didn't strike an official, if he did you would have heard about it before the show ended.

I'm glad that it was 3 Force cars in the finals, and ashley beat tony. He deserves it. I hope Tony finishes 10th in the points, and 1-4 is all Force cars. That'll show him...I'm glad John is back to his old self and not taking any more BS...John didn't lay a hand on anybody first...the officials grabbed him and he got free...Tony and Cruz don't have any class, never have, never will...And just maybe Dickie Venables saw the writing on the wall to get out...

Amen Cody, this is dead on!

Tony could have not bothered John spoiling his time with his daughter after an honest win.
He knew what buttons to push on an emotional John and went towards John before the cameras rolled.
What was done was done and it looked bad to everyone and I agree with Tony but National TV with kids watching is no time to settle a dispute because it was up to NHRA to deside anyway. Short of confessing wrongdoing John nor Cruzer or Tony had no part in the decision.

They should be both fined and loose thirty points which is the number Tony starts with up front.

I believe what happened was wrong but not 100 per cent and falls under $ happens but the altercation was started by Tony and was preventable.

Correction...this was all started by ESPN. Getting someone to say something and then taking it over to the other person. All for TV. And it worked, but who pays the price? The freakin' Pedregon's constantly run their mouths, and seem to forget where they came from. Without Force, Tony would be a nobody. He and his brother have no class, never have and never will. I worked with Tony for 3 years, was there in 03 when he won "HIS" championship. He treats the crew quys like crap. It was all about him when he won, never mind the crew and the "TEAM" that got him there. There is a reason why Force has what he does, and a reason why most likely Tony and Cruz won't be around next year. Force never talks $ hit about anybody, but what the H E L L do you think is gonna happen when you stick a mic and a camera in his face and tell him someone is talkin crap. IMO, it would have been much better TV if Force had knocked that crap talkin T Ped on his Arse...at least it would be worth the fine he most likely will get...

He didn't strike an official, if he did you would have heard about it before the show ended.

That's what I saw too. Everyone grabbed Force first....He never grabbed anyone.....actually the spin move to get away is pretty damn good for an "old cripple" as a$$hole T-Ped called him. Calling John that after what he recovered from is JUST PLAIN WRONG!!!! and show T-Ped has NO CLASS!!! and everyone wonders why he has sponer issues.

I thought the same thing but thought my eyes were playing tricks on me !!!

Costing Cruz twenty precious points?????? Business smart??? No - he needed those points today!

Now, for all the Pedregon lovers/Force Haters - lest we remember the end of last year with an obvious dive in Vegas giving Cruz the points necessary over Wilkerson to win the championship. If you hate Force today you MUST also hate the Pedregons for their team orders.

Lastly, for the DSR darlings, please don't be so blind to forget Neff/Scelzi in Seattle picking the wrong lane in an effort to further the team's point situation. This was Jim Jannard's first win after spending millions on this sport but he was denied due to team orders. You're simply kidding yourself to believe it's not happening. This is big business and the smart one still has all his teams running and funded while the ones crying "Cheaters" today are watching the wheels fall off.

p.s. Dickie seems happy over at AJs place, don't you think?

Remember, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Research your history before finger pointing.

Exactly...at least one person on here gets "IT."

this thread is a matter of who likes who, the force haters will say he was wrong period. but the FACT is, that tony pedregon had NO problem diving for john force for 8 years, john dove for him in the last year of his contract so he won the championship, still no problem with that either, but now there is a problem because it bit them .the pedgregons have no class, thats a fact also. oh yes haters- ashley won indy :D

Didn't know that Tped was twisting the knobs on the car when it blew the tires off at the most opportune time while driving for JFR. Is that what you are implying? Tony didn't have a problem with this while he was there? How did you come to that conclusion? Where did you get that notion? What crew did you work for to hear it that way? Not accusing, but I'm quite curious.

Chat boards and the media do not report what goes on behind the fence within the circles' of the teams that are out there.

IF Force did throw the race, so what? As he said, they are his cars and his team and he can do what he wants. Besides that, Force showed a lot of class by NOT throwing brick bats at the Pedregons even after they called him a cheat on the air. Looked to me like Tony was trying to get John mad enough to take a swing at him and knew how to push the right buttons. I think the Pedregons made themselves look very small today.

And BTW, if Tony & Cruz are so sure that John has been cheating all these years, I guess that Tony got his championships with Force by cheating! Can't have it both ways guys.

the pedregons are a bunch of dick heads, lets see what would happen if the foot was on the other foot. Every team has done it.

And after John helped Tony get to where he is today he has the balls to be the whining baby he is. It was great when John told him Tony that his daughter kicked his ass, hahahah Tony suck on that one.

Tony said he has a soft spot in his heart but he has something up his ass!

F*ck Force and F*ck the NHRA you've lost a paying fan.

For the sheep that can't see that John didn't dive despite the rules, keep drinking the Kool Aid.

Like Tony P. said....John should be ashamed of himself.

Bye Bye. Guess we won't be seeing ya at the track no more. Awww...such a shame
