Costing Cruz twenty precious points?????? Business smart??? No - he needed those points today!

And thus, I reiterate what I just said in another thread. The word "business" keeps coming up and that's what has ruined all aspects of sportsmanship and doing the right thing. Any race or championship won in this manner is tainted and empty at best and any true competitor worth his or her salt simply wouldn't want it that way and wouldn't be proud of it in the end.

Tony "Primadonna" Pedregon is an *******.

Period.

This is why Tony and Cruz will NEVER have the following or impact on the NHRA that John Force has had. And that is why Tony is no longer with JFR. And that is why he had to start his own thing.

Can't wait to see Tony and brother Cruz in the announcers booth in a few years. No sponsor in their right mind would support such a jerk.

I'm writing a letter to Tony that I will be posting later this evening.

I'm not sure what show you were watching, but T.P. was the only one that was sticking up for you in this whole mess; You know, the fan? I've never really been a fan of either of those brothers, but I have to admit, I liked what he had to say today on behalf of the paying fans seeing the show they deserve. And after the whoopin' he gave his brother two races ago after he himself was locked in gives him room to say that as far as I'm concerned.

Sean,

As a fan, I wanted to see John Force Racing cars in the countdown. I guess it all boils down to what you want. My problem is this: who is Tony Pedregon to assume that he is all the sudden the voice of all of the fans of the NHRA? I have NEVER seen eye to eye with him. And just because he made that decision in Brainerd, it doesn't mean he would have done the same thing today.

And besides that, as a fan, I want to make sure my favorite racers stay out on the track. That includes Cruz going home (sucks for him if AAP drops him), and Hight staying in the countdown and keeping AAA happy.

Perspective. It means that people shouldn't ASSUME what I, as the common fan, want.

Because in your case, TPed may have been right. But in mine, he couldn't have been more wrong.

He's still a total a$$hole.

Now, for all the Pedregon lovers/Force Haters - lest we remember the end of last year with an obvious dive in Vegas giving Cruz the points necessary over Wilkerson to win the championship. If you hate Force today you MUST also hate the Pedregons for their team orders.

I wanted Wilkerson to win the championship last year, as I didn't the same thing that happened to Rod Fuller in 2007 to happen to Tim, but to be fair Cruz and Tony never raced in the fall Vegas race last year. Cruz won the first two rounds when Jack Beckman and Gary Densham both redlighted. He then beat John Force and Robert Hight in the last two rounds, both of which were very close races. The only time the Pedregon's raced each other in last year's countdown was round 3 at Charlotte. In that race Tony had a .022 light and Cruz had a .030 light, Cruz ended up winning, but at that point I'm not sure but I think Tony was higher in points than his brother, or at the very least it would have been too early to tell which driver would have needed the win more for points purposes.

Even if it means that you have to see people throw "races".

If it comes down to Cruz and Robert ... yes, even if it means someone has to throw the race. I would rather see a team with class in the countdown, than a team full of primadonna, arrogant a$$holes.

I'll take that anyday.

Pedregon's lose the sportsmanship trophy?!?!?!

ROTFLMMFAO!!!!!

Sean D

Me too - Did you hear Graham Light? NHRA and ESPN2 will laugh all the way to the bank on this. The ratings and attendance will be through the roof for the rest of the season. T-Ped and Daddy Force just boosted the sport's visibility by a factor of 10.

I will admit, Jeremy, I get your point to a certain degree. That being said, I want my drivers in also, but I don't want them to win a race or a championship that wasn't earned, so I guess that's where you lose me a little.

F*ck Force and F*ck the NHRA you've lost a paying fan.

For the sheep that can't see that John didn't dive despite the rules, keep drinking the Kool Aid.

Like Tony P. said....John should be ashamed of himself.

The fans at both Pedregon brothers ropes combined will not equal the ones at John's pit. And someone can say Tony speaks for the Fans???? I think not. Mike Dunn doesn't either. And he says he loves John? Yeah, like I love my ex wife.

If the Mater activity regarding this one momentary incident is a small indicator of NHRA interest, today we made great strides. It's always been said that "No news is bad news." Today proves it.

At least there was no NHRA celebrity sex tape that caused all of this drama. :p

I read but hardly ever post. Here is my .02 cents.
John Force is a racer and a business man.
For the good of JFR you get your team in the points and the money rounds.
Thats racing and business. With out business you have no racing.
NHRA has rules about how you run your own races???
Didn't Dan Wilkerson "lay down" for Tasca?
Again, I say thats business and racing.
Did Mike Dunn ramble on about that??
For Cruz to say John Force cheated is just not thinking before opening.

Hey Drew, if I remember right at Norwalk I believe it was, didnt ole little Wilk lay down for Tasca? So I guess you have to say F*CK Tasca and Wilk now too huh? If the shoe fits.......

Although the issues were different, I've said the exact same thing about the NHRA losing a paying fan...in fact several times. But I've come to learn that drag racing is like a bad addiction: No matter how determined I've been to stay away I soon find myself in relapse. I think you'll find, as many of us have, that falling off the wagon comes easier than resolve.

For a guy who "Get's It" you shouldn't be so quiet in the future!
Thanks Matt!
