I'm watching the live feed from the First-in-a-Long-Time Divisional at Pomona this afternoon. It appears there are literally no spectators. This is hard to believe. Is the NHRA actually turning away spectators at the gates? I assume not, but why in the world wouldn't they advertise this rare race in So CA and charge say $25.00 a pop to get in, with kids free, or some such? I know, sparse crowds at NHRA Divisionals are not rare, but I never understood the philosophy of not advertising these Divisional events to expose people to the sport for a low cost, especially when the Top Alcohol cars racing. And it would bring in more revenue to the NHRA. If I wasn't working, I would be the one guy in the stands this weekend. That is if the NHRA would even sell me a ticket to get in.
*Edit*: OK, now I see at least TWO spectators in the stands. So the crowd is starting to arrive, I guess.
