I have a simple question about the pitside gate at Pomona Raceway. Can spectators pay and get in at this gate (gate 15 I believe)? The Metro yellow line has a stop real close to this gate.

There is access @ gate 16 on Arrow Highway as that is a ride share pickup/drop off. It is not on public maps but was confirmed by NHRA last November. Not sure if you can purchase a ticket at that gate but you could pre purchase an electronic ticket.

I purchased a general admission ticket there Sunday @the Finals. The fellow who took my money asked if I came to watch it rain. Turns out, I did. I took the light rail from Downey to there, about a 2hr. ride, but did not pay for parking. Will do it again.

cool. that drops you off right at the laverne/fairplex station? how much was the rail fee from downey?

Yes, it's the new Metro Gold (A) line extension. Being a senior/off-peak trip, I took the Green(C) line to the Gold line (A, used to be the Blue line) - 35 cents each trip, round-trip: $1.40! Leaves me more to spend on In-N-Out & merch...

The most the fare costs, Regular fare/peak hrs. M - F, morning & afternoon rush hours is $1.75 ea. trip, or $7 for my round trip

i had no idea LA had such a large light rail system until i read your post, not to mention a station right at the fairplex.
