It turned into the sleeker one piece bodies you see today, which are now only used by a small number of teams. As for the actual wide body, that was sold with all his stuff. Can't remember who purchased it all. Someone on here will know for sure.

I have the privilege of knowing Don, and I see firsthand how much he cares about this teams. He gives them everything they need to win, and to be the best. He plays by the rules, won’t give team orders, and fills his organization with the best staff he can find. When he sets out to do something he does it with the best of intentions. Don is first a sound business professional, and he will do what is best for DSR and his marketing relationships. You will NOT find a smarter man, period, and I bet whatever he decides to do, if anything, will be based on what is best for DSR and his teams.
I feel for Don, and I wish him luck!

to add to paul's earlier post about big's rear engine design
- ormsby's shroud over engine
- eddie hill's PS scoop from injector hat to top of roll cage
- amato's 'no wing' design (did it ever race? or just test?)
- frank lengthening chassis to 300"
- rear wing height - amato (mentioned earlier)
- airplane front wheels - garlits first with belts?
- advancement to front & rear wings, including spillplates
- addition of spillplates behind headers
- big's enclosed canopy and enclosed wheels (mentioned earlier)
- big's monostrut (hope this design isn't dead)
- shroud over roll cage - DSR
- vortex generators (were on romine TF spitzer chassis for i think 1 race?)
just a few of the TF innovations i can remember in the last 25 or so years.
did these all meet nhra approval? or were they tested and either failed
or remained. (nhra i believe nixed romine's spitzer chassis...why i don't know)
now there's another pissing match over this aesthetically beautiful shroud
that at least covers the sides of the rollcage from debris penetration,
regardless of it's function towards aero or air pressure; yet there seems
to be no problem with fuel pumps at or exceeding 100 gl/min
where's the rational

I never said it was.
It was a general statement about what happened to Joe's stuff.
I agree with everything Beard and Green Said. It's completely crazy NHRA would do this. Aero, yeah right, the injector is not getting any more forced induction because of that shroud. Any team could of copied it. I say BS on NHRA but of course the schumacher haters will BS DSR
What happened with the shrouds had to be aggravating (and expensive), but to me a more important issue was the fact that your team (Gray, Hagen) raced straight-up yesterday in round 2. I realize that's what you're supposed to do, but nonetheless, I was impressed.
Very good point. I was surprised when Gray won that round and very impressed.

Nope, I'm 100% serious. The "other" team doesn't have to do squat just because they think they perceived something. They could have gone out and done exactly what DSR did on their own and submitted it to NHRA for approval, just like DSR. Nobody stopped them from coming up with the idea and nobody forced them to hire an engineer to do a study of anything.
Why did DSR do it? Because they wanted to.
