I work at a naval museum. In the early 80s we had a hard working brainiac (summer hire) that was going to use a sawzall for the first time. The shop supervisor said "make sure you keep a load on it when cutting". The young man spent 15 minutes searching in the sawzall's box for something called a load. When he was told what that meant, he had a good sense of humor about it.

My dad made that one about 35 years ago as a gag, it's amazing how many people who couldn't figure out what it was.

You laugh-I worked in a motorcycle dealership in the 80's--back when ALL your info came from magazines. Seriously-we'd get calls from people asking if we could install a better powerband-because they read that brand Y has a better one than brand X.

Reminds me of a story a coworker told me about a 1st year electrical apprentice that burned up 3 drill bits drilling holes in a cabinet because he had the drill in reverse and didn't know until somebody pointed it out to him. Even used cutting oil on the 2nd and 3rd ones.
