A certain shop in town (they'll remain nameless) brings over a lot of hubs, and has us press bearings for them. Generally, they don't seem to know much about cars....scary!!!!!!
So a Dodge Ram 2500 gets towed in, and they tell me that the axle bearing they replaced seized, and please replace it. What they don't tell me is one of their hack-masters tried to cut the bearing off, and cut an 1/8" deep by 1/4" wide groove into the axle housing. So I call and tell him he's screwed...they better plan on replacing the housing. Then he tells me they already had to buy the guy an engine...one of the gas V10....that one of their people 'forgot' to put oil in, then proceeded to test drive said truck.
I asked him if the tech still worked there, and he said yeah, what would you do?
I told him the only guy that ever forgot to put oil in a car was terminated immediately. We pay our guys well, and expect good work.
And I have more horror stories where that came from.......
