This is one reason the Mater won't die, it is creating another fuel team with a brand new driver. How many other situations have been created by the Mater? Probably a lot.

Dunno why, but I think I expected a site that was more heavily-weighted with technical information and with discussions of the nuts and bolts of drag racing as it involves Fuel racing (that's the "NITRO" part.) My mistake.

For sure, there are people on this BB who are definitely qualified to discuss that material at length. I expected threads, for example, on the mechanical changes effected by the switch to a 1,000-foot tuneup, discussions on how to deal with reducing the comparatively lengthy reaction times associated with the clutch systems in use in Fuel cars, and perhaps, some intelligent questions and answers regarding the unnecessarily restrictive rules that prevent any real technological progress with regard to changes to Fuel motors.

If you find a forum like that that is easily accesable let me know , I have been looking for the same thing . Believe me I wish I could befriend a crew chief so that I could be a sponge for that kind of information.

The best way to be a sponge to absorb the information is to start inquiring about a position. My brothers started out at the bottom and worked their way on up. There are plenty of teams that need volunteers and that is a great way to get in there. Some people are happy to take eager people under their wing and teach them the business. I must emphasize the word EAGER! If you show the heart and desire, someone will extend a hand.

Weeellllll, Q, I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, but I was just doing some reading on another thread, and according to one poster, there is only one female that has been born with the talents to be a driver.....sorry, but I guess that's the way it goes..
