Scary no doubt, but is this any different than the numerous propaganda devices that Al-Qaeda uses, railing againt the big evil empire?

Lets not forget most Muslims are peace loving people as well.

Well, I guess we don't have to worry about 'most Muslims', do we.

Just the ones who want to kill us.

I rest my case folks.... thus.... the title of this thread.

No, I "get it" Jackee... I'm tired of living a life of fear from a people that I know are a minority in the group that they represent through their religion.

Obviously, through my travels, I meet hundreds of people a year of many different cultures, beliefs and religions. True, there are some in the Middle East (and elsewhere) that would like nothing better than to see the "oppression caused of the U.S." to come to a violent end, by any means necessary- but there are just as many people around the world that would feel the same about ending the lives of those zealots by any means necessary as well- including some governments. To buy into all the propaganda produced by, what is by all accounts, a minority of people is akin to all White Americans being associated with a few hoodlums from the South (and elsewhere) running around in their bedsheets, being terrorists.

I'm having more and more of a difficult time believing ANYONES propaganda (which is generated to sustain fear and hate), whether it be from our side OR theirs. SOMEBODY wants us to be afraid- doesn't it bother you when those "somebodies" happen to say they are representing you and that they are on YOUR side?

Information is good- fear mongering is bullsh!t.

What you call 'fear mongering' is the information Americans need to understand completely.

It's the propoganda from the left......"the war on terror is a bumper sticker' that is the bullshit.

I distribute a ton of this information and I am not "afraid" of anything.....
Merely being aware that there are people who want to kill us....

I've come to accept however, that there will always be those who downplay the reality of global terrorism. That is YOUR choice, my friend.

Or, who knows, maybe you're an Muslim operative in a sleeper cell, whose mission it is to calm Americans into a false sense of security that jihadists are not a real threat to us. ;)

Oh, and by the way, I've worked for a global company for the last 23 year, and I've come to know many people of other cultures and faiths as well. I've discussed this issue at length with all of them. I didn't just fall off a turnip truck.

But hey! You're entitled to your opinion. I'll just post the stuff, you just post your stuff and let's just let intelligent people capable of thinking for themselves, make up their own minds.

If there is anyone to fear in your immediate future, it's those folks that Larry Hedge mentioned in another thread going now... Those terrorists have blown right through our back door, and are standing silently in the dark over our children while we are off claiming to be protcting the front door. Of a house that ISN'T EVEN OURS.

If we can't keep 12M+ out, how the hell is being 8,000 miles away supposed to help us keep 12 out? (Britian's car bombs in the past few days were executed by less than a dozen active entities..)

Not exactly a cool comment there, J... especially to a man that looks the way I do (ask Suzie Q or Ghio...), and suffers through more than my fair share of "SSSS" being stamped on my plane tickets.... even with the wink.

If you want to talk about what is or isn't cool, you opened the door Mr Thomas. Don't call my posts bullshit, when all I am doing is making people aware of the very real threat of terrorism, which has been downplayed to a dangerous degree by the Left in this country.

You're entitled to your opinion about this issue. And so am I. If you wish to continue this, please feel free to email me. [email protected]

Which is precisely why hundreds of thousands of grass roots Americans were responsible for the defeat (for the moment) of the Kennedy-McCain bill.

Enforce the borders first and foremost, then deal with the rest.

And it is precisely why millions more Americans should be voicing their opinions about illegal immigration to their representatives in Washington and make them listen.

The time to be fat, dumb and happy in America has come to an end, if we are to continue to be the land of the free because of the brave. In fact, America needs to get her spine back in these matters as our forefathers did to make us a great nation. We've become complacent and lazy and willing to let someone else get things done. There is no better recipe for defeat.

Suffice it to say that Jihad is a problem for the whole world to deal with. Should we take them lightly, they will make us sorry for doing so.

On another closely related topic, the very President that is being obliterated daily by the liberal media had the worst terrorism attack to deal with immediately after taking office yet, despite his media value and approval ratings which are quite well aligned, we haven't had another attack on our US soil since? I'd call that extreme performance in the face of a growing world problem. Maybe that's why the press is resorted to speaking about the exit strategy in Iraq rather than the rebuilding of a nation that's going on day-in and day-out.

No, you don't get it, Martin. When more than 25% of Muslims in America polled state that suicide bombing is justified, the minority of that religious persuasion is a threat to us all.

We are talking about a culture that preaches death to all that don't convert to their religion. We are talking about a culture that has parents training their pre-teen children to strap bombs to themselves to kill innocent people. We are talking about a culture where a parent will put their own children in a bomb-laden car to make it easier to get past check points to kill innocent people by killing themselves and their own children! This isn't propaganda, it is fact.

Nice try, but not equitable. The KKK isn't a threat to the entire planet, much less the entire population of a country. Islamic-fascists want everyone dead that doesn't hold the same views as they do.

Again, "you don't get it". Terrorism, by the very nature of the word, is meant to instill fear. What you may view as "propaganda" by those attempting to stop attacks on innocents is countered by the very real attacks and/or thwarted planned attacks on innocent people. Terrorists don't use propaganda to instill fear, they intentionally kill innocent people. I hope you can at least understand that.
Information is good- fear mongering is bullsh!t.
How many more innocent people will have to die before you'll understand that this country, and western civilization in general, is at war with a real enemy? 1,000? 10,000? A million? 10 million? What's the number?

Just out of curiosity, what would you consider to be a "fair share" of SSSSSSS plane tickets? I'm a 54-year-old white guy with light brown hair, and I fly about 25 times a year. I get my "fair share" of SSSSSSS plane tickets; the full wand go-over and, where available, the sniffer machine. My carry-on bag gets swabbed and/or gone through about 35% of the time, run through the x-ray twice, about 50%. Unless I'm running late for catching a flight, I don't mind it at all, and neither should anyone else.

Last year I accrued almost 200,000 airmiles, mostly through international ports. There are two airlines in America that state that I am on a government "search" list (although I am not shown to be on that list by American, United, Delta or Southwest). And I do not encounter any additional screening when traveling through Amsterdam, Buenos Aries, Moscow, Tokoyo or any of the dozens of international ports.

Bob, they are looking at you. Certain airlines are looking at me. I'm glad you don't mind- I don't as well. But I highly doubt that it will be you or I that warrant investigation, all for the sake of being PC. And that is the reason that its more about the fear factor than it is about stopping the problem. If they want to stop the problem, go after the source (that "25%" that you mentioned would be a GREAT place to start).

You and Jackee have every right to inform the masses with your point of view. I just hope that your information is based on a greater amount of facts than that exclusively from one side of the aisle.

I said fear mongering is bullsh!t- Does your post meet that criteria?

If it doesn't, then it wasn't me that opened any door, Mrs. Allen

Could the reason that you don't encounter the scrutiny at foreign airports be that, the foreign countries don't have the ACLU and others threatening or filing suit because profiling travelers to screen is viewed as unfair and discriminatory? I flew 2 weeks after 9/11, and watched as the passengers were "indiscriminately" screened. It made no sense then, and it makes no sense now. If we can't profile people who exhibit the same characteristics as those who have attacked us for more scrutiny, something is very wrong. In the name of ACLU fairness in airline screening, at that time I volunteered to keep an eye on the Swedish Bikini Team, but no one took me up on that offer...

I absolutely agree. A full-on search of me and my stuff makes nobody safer on an airplane. My reason for flying is work, not killing innocent people.

There is no aisle Martin, except when the real dangers in this world are downplayed by left-wing radicals. We haven't been hit here since 9/11, no thanks to those who appease real terrorists. When some folks claim that the war on terror is a "bumper sticker war", and their statements are given credence by major media outlets, it makes me want to puke.

Bob, who the hell in their right mind is appeasing "real terrorists"???? Is a "real terrorist" someone that practices a certain religion? Or live in a specific region of the world? Or who has been raised outside of the U.S. and has no idea about American politics with the exception of what they MAY get from their news outlet? WHO are these terrorists, and why the hell can't we find them?
