It's a beautiful day, they're calling for some pretty good wind later but for now it looks good. 10:30 Comp, then Alcohol, and the pros..........

Alan

Sun Is Good it should not take long for the 14 rails in top fuel and the 17 funnie cars to run so NHRA can get to the Stock and Super Stockers at least they paid to get in so let them run today it would only take a hour or so to run . Unless the Pits are muddy bad> shame on the race track for haveing bad pits at a national event for 95% of the race cars??

Hey Alan what's up with the AudioCast . . .logged on from home early, now the office ....just getting a terrible beeping noise

Thats really great. Glad it stopped raining.
But in Typical NHRA fashion the sportsman racers who (1) paid to get in. (2) Have regular jobs they need to get back too (3) have been there patiently waiting. GET SCREWED by NHRA again and (1) will have to take an additional day of to stay (2) may not stay because they can't (3) What little exposure they get from Manufactures and fans is null because no one is there on Monday. Thanks NHRA way to take care of your members

And to top that off, they have had many problems with water in the pits there, even 30 years ago! Way to go nhra

you know guys, I sometimes wonder if you are even aware of what happens at a national event. Memories are very short. what goes on today at a national event is the same as what has gone on for decades. national events are about the spectators. they pay to watch the fast cars, and to take it further, it is the nitro cars. people start getting into their seats when the TA, pro stock and pro mod cars run on friday and saturday, and are in their seats for the nitro cars. Sunday the nitro cars start the festivities and after they run people start to dispurse again. When the sportsman cars get their chance people (FOR THE MOST PART) are off to the pits or consessions etc. Fans (FOR THE MOST PART) pay to see nitro. That is the reality and will not change. Sportsman racers know this as well. They just what to race and want the chance to will a national wally, The NHRA has programs in place to reward the sportsman racers in every class. they get rewarded for being world champs etc. If they weren't willing to put up with the changes of scheduling at a national event they would not go. They do it becasue they want to. No one is forcing them to go to a national.
If you as a fan do not want to be interupted by the fast cars, or have your day turned upside down by changes to scheduling to accomidate the pros and tv go to a sportsnationals.
Life to too shart to rant on a subject that will never change to your liking, and the sooner you understand that that and move on to something that is much more improtant to be pissed off about the better off you will be.
Pick your battles, this one is not going to change.
It is so counterproductive to be angry about something you can't control.
Don't sweat the things you have no say over, this will never change.;):D
Pro Mod got kicked on at NHRA events since they started running, yet they made the decision to pay big money this year to continue their chance to run their. NHRA must be doing something right. :D:D

You are absolutley right. Fans do pay to see Nitro. And those same fans will pay to see Nitro on Monday. Run the Sportsman on saturday Bump the cars (Pros) that don't have regular jobs. And don't pay to be there to Sunday and Monday The fans will still be there.

The fans will be there on Monday??? They have jobs also so I don't think they will skip their job to watch Nitro or sportsman.

I am a sportsman racer and have learned to educate the fans rather than be angry they don't like/understand our classes.

Fans understand the Pro classes and that is what they come to see. A drag race is a Car Show that just happens to have a race track in the middle of it all. The fans come for the "show", whether it is on the track or in the pits.

The hard core fans will wander around the pits taking pictures and talking to sportsman racers. They make the race more interesting for me. I let them stick their kids in my dragster and turn the wheel and make noises while their parents take pictures. That's all I can do to make a casual fan turn into a lifelong fanatic.

John, you must be one of those people who expects all of your stuff at the grocery store to be on one aisle.

The sportsman, and I am one of 'em (er, my wife really) are bit players in a major production, Dean and Don have it right . . . the world does not revolve around us but we can help the fans have a better time at the show.

Love it, or leave it, but please don't look silly complaining about it.

Well in reality I have a Super Comp car (currently leading Div 1 Points, Until the next race..lol ) No, I don't want everything on one aisle. I just would like NHRA to give a little respect to the people (sportsman) that make it possible for them to have races. Do the Math. Maybe they could stay past 5 pm on 1 day and run 1st round of something sportsman. Maybe 1 class only. At least it would show they have some concern for people and their other lives. That classes 1st round losers could at least go home and same some money.
As for any "Pros" that I might have offended by saying they don't have regular jobs. Some Do as some sportsman don't. But the majority work for the race team. Racing is their regular job and weather its a Monday race or back at the shop they still get whatever they negociated to do so. And yes I do speak from experience. I once was a "Pro" crewman.

Does g-ville have a curfew? And why?? We run test and tunes till 10pm and longer sometimes(gainesville).

PS- I myself couldnt believe they didnt have two sessions on friday, one of which being at night, would of been awesome!
