Instinct vs iphone???

Last I heard about the Instinct is that it fails at the most important thing - reception. The Iphone from what I hear (no pun intended) is better.
My contact is up soon what Sprint, I may get another Sanyo, those are the best on the Sprint network.

The iPhone looks great, but I have found two problems: 1) I have large (fat?) fingers and typing is very problematic, and 2) the AT&T plan is terrible -- if you want unlimited text with a moderate use plan, you're looking at over $100 a month. I'm sticking with my CrackBerry Curve which has real keys and we have four phones on a TMobile family plan with unlimited text for ~$110 a month.

I was thinking about going with Verizon, only issue is that their phones and plans are pricey.

Except I live in the middle of a Verizon dead spot, and they refuse to fix it despite numerous pleas from the over 100 households in my neighborhood... So much for their TV ads.

Remember your talking to the Caveman! I just this year made it into AD, just watched the Roman Collisuem get built (79 A.D.) But an itouch might put me in the year 600 A.D.

I have an iPod Touch and like it a lot. It's everything the iPhone is but without the telephone. The only downfall is.... you only have internet access when you can find a wifi hot spot. With the iPhone, you can get the internet through your phone service OR wifi.
Edit: and there is not camera on the touch either.

I've had Verizon since 91 when it was pac-tel cell and I have nothing but good to say about them. They are now our, home and cell phone provider, along with internet and Tv. Customer service and price are great. Drop a call? Cant remember the last time. WE've used our cell phones on vacations and called home from Switzerland, Italy, Jamaica, to name a few and no problems.

The Dare looks great; it's just a little too much for me.
I've been a very satisfied Verizon customer for close to 10 years (just released from the cave).

I have resisted buying the Iphone since it came out...it's really hard NOT getting it! I am waiting for the Blackberry Bold to hit here, then decision time indeed. It all depends on what you are going to use a phone for as to which one you choose. I have a 3G phone now and really enjoy surfing the web when I should be doing other things. The Iphone will only make that worse. There are many websites out there to check out. I would suggest reading up on what's available, and what is coming out. It's like a big research project. Joe, all of my company's stores should have a cell phone "bar." You can try them out for fit & feel, see how you like the buttons, how they work etc. You should even be able to "test drive" an iPhone and see if you like using the "key pad" and other aspects before you go to the expense of making a purchase. I know there's a couple stores in the Albuquerque area.

Hmmm....imo Samsungs are the best on Sprint. At least based on my experience and in my area.

My brother in law has the Iphone and it works great and sounds great, but if you do any texting the buttons are very small and you constantly are having to hit the back button. It works very well if you use a small stylus from a nintendo DS, but you have to carry it with you everywhere you go.
I have sprint and have a Blackberry, but I want to get the Instinct so if anyone has used or played with one please post about it!

I was on Verizon, but jumped ship to the new iPhone and i have been very happy with it. The texting part will pass very quickly. I have big hands and fingers and so I struggled with it at first, but after about 3 days or so, i got it down, and it has auto correct features to help, so unless your really anal, you don't need to use the back button to much. Battery life sucks with it, I get about 24 hours with moderate use, so I have chargers for home, office, car. Reception has been good for me, but this week will be a test as i am heading up to Oregon for my vacation. I also Jailbroke my phone so I am having a lot of fun playing with the themes, new games and apps that brings to the table.

I have not used an Instinct. I haven't had Sprint in nearly 4 years. Yay! But, I am for some sick, twisted reason a mod on SprintUsers.com, so there's tons of info on the Instinct over there. Just go to the Phone Reviews section for user reviews or the Instinct subforum for additional info.
The touchscreen on the Voyager and the Dare are both subpar compared to the iPhone, IMHO.

Anyway, it's my understanding there's not a bunch of difference between the two devices, so if you have any questions ask away.

The iTouch can get internet, you just have to use wireless. So if you are at home you can hook up to your wireless router. If you are out and about, you have to look for hotspots so you can use their wireless.
The iPhone can use both wireless and cellular networks to access the internet.

Samuel, it seems to me that Verizon is a classic case of "You get what you pay for".
I've had Verizon going on 5 years. I pay 180 bucks for 3 lines on Verizon, and despite some issues with my LG phone, which they've tried very hard to make right, it's worth every penny. That 180 bucks is including about 15 bucks in insurance thanks to my dad's habit of falling in the pool with his phone in his pocket and my habit of leaving my phone on my convertible top and slamming the door (it creates a trampoline effect).
If I have a problem that they can't solve right away, I've gotten follow up calls. They warrantied my phones when they've had issues, and when I had issues with a really bad phone, they gave me a complete new phone, better than the one I had (and not just because it worked too!).
It's sort of the economics of happiness argument. If I got the cell phones for less money, and it didn't have good coverage, if the customer service center sucked, didn't have all the features, if I had to call the company for stupid issues, billing issues, feature problems, it wouldn't be worth the money out of pocket I save.
