If only we could have been able to stay ANOTHER EXTRA day, I wonder how things would have played out....

A nitro parts peddler I was sitting with on Tuesday was calling Mike's cell before Antron had even rolled to a complete stop just befor the 1320 stripe...Message back said, "Customer is NOT receiving calls right now"!!

Oh, what could have been. Going into the weekend I was hoping it would be you guys or Chrisman against Arley in the finals. How cool would that have been?

Many of us in the stands did not know you guys had left.
It was announced over the loudspeakers you guys had gone home back to work.
Then the matco car went up in smoke, uhhhhhh my heart broke.

So now you guys have to get a win to make up for it! OK?
Deal? :D

We left Monday afternoon because Daniel Oliver came down with the flu and was running a fever. Because of that we gave Clint Thompson a first round single. On his first round single Clint blew the tires off. I would guess Clint used that as an opportunity to try something and maybe it didn't work. I wouldn't figure how unlucky we were.

My guess would be Antrons team would of come to the line with a different tune up if you guys would of been in the other lane. They threw the stuff to it to see what the track would hold.

That was my assumption while I was listening to the audiocast.

Still though, .....

Aaaahhhh, you could drive yourselves NUTS with chit like this.........

:(

Well, Curtis I was checking results starting monday every chance i got and then again Tues specifically looking for you guys and of course Kevin Wayman, in I believe his 1st National event. HOPING for a win.
I was quite bummed when I read that you had gone home early, especially after seeing AB's results.
Always a fan no matter who your opponent is!

With all due respect, I'd say they came with their best game, given the lack of testing, hoping for the ever-important lane choice and they flat missed as did others. I'll stand by my statement that you could have bet the farm on the semis!

I'm with you on that one, Also looks like BB had a not so good package in the semi's. Sooo I'm thinking the finals would have been realistic.
Maybe just hoping, or daydreaming, but I think that it would have been very possible

Who really knows what they were thinking, but i know if i had a free run in eliminations i would use that to try to see what the track could hold....plus both lanes were excellent so even if you missed on lane choice that day you still got a pretty good lane....thats just my opinion though.

Thanks Randy. We were wondering what happened. Looking for good things from your team this season.

Probably more so now..........
A rumor today says a $5000.00 fine was levied for leaving early.
Is this true ?:o
All of us really want to know if there was actually a fine levied. If so, I suspect I could rustle hundreds people in a couple days to begin a movement about. If there is, indeed a fine for going back to work on Monday rather than playing with race cars, (especially for a team of volunteers and family members) this sanctioning body has crossed a very important line. Please keep us informed.

Yes, absolutely! Everyone even remotely related to drag racing should know if this is true or not. Hopefully it is just a bad rumor.

There wasnt a fine, but there is a penalty of no first round money=4000.00 and no first round points=20 pts. We have not received any money yet, but we are told it will be qualifying money only. The afore mentioned we believe to be "set in stone" and non-negotiable. Now with the loss of the 20 points we fall out of the top ten, and that COULD cost us 2000.00 at Phoenix, not clear on the details of this second can of worms yet.:mad::eek:
