Has anyone heard from any of the Houston area Maters? I hope everyone is staying safe!

I'm reporting in and OK. Have text and incoming and data service. Saw FEMA convoy rolling down I 10 while the storm was still blowing tropical storm strength.

The storm though only Cat 2 was pushing a Cat 4 storm surge in front of it and Houston got the worst case scenario for a path .
I know everything below 20 ft. in elevation took a hit including the oil refineries and dockside facilities.
Our training center and shoreside offices even though 12 ft. or more in elevation had water nearly to the second story . One Malibu was seen all night floating around in circles near the parking lot.
I saw a van and a truck washed up against a building and some industrial structures collapsed nearby.
Any way the cleanup begins and everyone had better hope the oil refineries were not hit too bad and can get going again soon cause I want to GTFOOH and go back to my Garage with a house attached to it.
I got a neat shot of the eye on my Radar, it lasted nearly an hour and a half and I could not believe the backside tore everthing up worse than the front. I hope Glen and Justin came out alright.

EEK that looks bad.
Waiting to hear from all 'maters to check in.

On a light note for a smile during this rough time, check this out:

I heard from Teri Sewell and they are ok. lots of trees down and lots of rain. they have no power, but they are running on a generator. The problem is that there is not a lot of gas available in the area.

Hang in there S.I.L.S.!!!:D

Reporting in from the office. I made it thru ok. It was crazy there for a few hours. It blowed my fence down but its still all together so I think I can put it back up with some support. I lost some shingles and my front gutter but other than that I'm gk. There isint a whole lot of fences and trees and limbs left but overall I think we were very lucky. My grandma's house got it bad. Ripped the whole west end off of it, all you can see is the rafters. Then the attic filled up with water and the kitchen ceiling collapsed. So we have been working on fixing that and my stepmon's doctor's office got tore up really really bad. They will be closed for a while. Still no power but hopefully we will have it tonight, the neighborhood nextdoor has it as of this morning. So just keep on running the generator.

I know Kelly is ok, just no power. Total number of people I heard out of power was 5.2 million on the radio yesterday. So hopefully they will get it back on as soon as they can.

Glad to hear everyone's ok. There was very little coverage on our news so most people were treating it like a little wind, little rain storm!
Stay safe!!

Galveston is pretty much a war zone! It is horrible down there. I really feel for those rescue workers having to save the ones that stayed. They are sending people from Fort Worth and Dallas to help out and a lot of heavy machinery to help clear the roads. The biggest problem is all of the debris in the roadways.

Has anyone heard from Glenn?

Well my Nieces house got off lucky, they had a tree lose some branches is all but NO damage to the house. My Nephew in Katy wasn't as lucky! They had all the shingles torn off their Roof, and all the rain leaked in through the roof causing part the ceiling's in their Dining and living room to collapse!

My Nephews wife has quite the sense of humor in all of this saying it looked like a Cotton Candy explosion had taken place! Go Figure, Katy's about 70-80 mi. from Galveston...

I have been in Kentucky all weekend and the remnants of Ike came thru and effed everything up pretty bad early yesterday, still had 60 MPH winds. Lots of trees down, lots of folks (over 100,000 in Louisville) without power, lots of siding and roofs blown off.

Yeah, we got the remants of Ike yesterday and it was kinda crazy. I'm not used to the wind coming from the south. Lots of power outages. We were spared in Brownsburg, but Clermont lost their power.
I'm just to hear all of our Maters are "okay". Pretty scary stuff to have to go through.

Hey all, checking in from my office. We are OK. Will be without power for up to 4 weeks. Have a generator. I have been told our neighborhood is the worst of all Harris County. Sorry the cameras didn't stay up. I need to run to the other office but will check back and fill in more details of the destruction.

Glad to see you're ok, Glenn.

Had me worried when we lost the cameras. Not that I like train wrecks..but knowing you are ok..I wouldn't have minded seeing the camera view.

Thanks for chiming in.

Jackee, Kel is fine. Just no power. I had power yesterday afternoon, that is until 2 minutes before freaking kickoff of the Cowboys/Eagles game! Still dont have it. I had already given my generator to others to use but I got another one so all is well. Just wanting my power back.

Glenn, glad to hear your ok. Has anyone heard from Michelle Martindale?

Thanks so much, Justin, for the Kelly update. I'd sent her an email, but hadn't heard anything back. I heard about the power outages and was hoping that was all that it was.

I guess my nephews house in Katy is worse than I thought, now another room's ceiling's collapsed from all the Rain! And Jerrod's got a 2% deductable on damage which means he has to cover the first $4,200! My Brother John who lives in Spring didn't suffer any damage, but won't get Power for at least 3 weeks!
