Glenn very very good job! Congratulations you are now a professional ceiling fan blade taker downer! Now want me to help ya with the fence?

Like they say an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. LOL

I may have one beer, but in these situations I found it's best to curb the alcohol intake. Now last nite was a different story. ;) Those margaritas were very tasty.

I think if something has to be fixed after this we can just pull up a cooler of beer, a few lawn chairs and watch the workers. LOL

Yep sure do, try'in to figurer out the best way to get it to ya!
1. walk out side thrower in the air and she'll blow to you.

2. message in the bottle thing and the storm surge deliver it.

How about we bypass both of those and I'll work on it a little bit.

Hey Glenn;

Pretty cool camera setup you got there ... I have setup similar systems in hotels ... the cameras are wireless with unique IPs, they transmit back to a DVR/Webserver with it's own unique IP ... and people can either login remotely and view any of the cameras real-time, or "rewind" them digitally on the DVR to verify incidents. They can also go to the Server/DVR locally and login and view any of the camers. Some even have zoom and pan features in real time ... and after a certain period of inactivity, they will automatically return to their "default" position.

Anyway, I will quit boring everyone and close by saying STAY SAFE.

Thanks, Chris.

The stuff you are talking about is some high dollar stuff. Mine isn't cheap and I still need to tune the cameras a bit but I am happy so far. I have a computer that will record 8 cameras for 2 weeks. I am not overly happy with the software package but it will have to for now.

Hopefully we will keep power for a while but one thing is for certain, it's not if we lose power it's when we lose power.

Can you repeat that in Caveman?:p;)

Well I'm staying, we decided to ride it out b/c as soon as it was over we'd be running back here to see if we still had a house. Plus all my fam is pretty much here so we will see. Hopefully everybody will be ok. If any of yall need anything, let me know. And Joe, thanks for the phone call yesterday. I was listening to it and was like WTF is this? Your sister and fam should be ok.

Hold on there! I sincerely hope you all stay safe. Glenn, the web cams are great, thanks.

Hey John, it's my pleasure to share some real life hurricane experiences with all the maters. :D

Drove down to the houses that are near the boat ramp in my neighborhood and some are very close to getting water in them already. What a shame.

The wind is starting to pickup and stay steady they say it will be around 11 pm before the hurricane force winds hit.

You all in the Houston take care this evening as all of the Mater family will be praying for you guys. This storm is very scary because it has been so unpredictable and is so large in size! Today here in Austin every hotel is PACKED and all of the schools here are being used as a shelter...the kiddos had a half day today so they could get prepared. The news said the schools are nearly full and surrounding districts are opening up more as they fill up. Be safe everyone.

I'm just outside of Little Rock. I-30 was loaded with Texas license plates. Heavy rains and a lot of wind from the right if you're going northeast. Must be spinning it off clear up to hear. Made it to Brown's 100' Buffet so, I'll manage to survive somehow. Don't worry about me. :D

Bad deal , Galveston has 4 1/2 ft. of water on the Strand and waves are washing plumb across Bolivar and Surfside.
Seabrook , La Marque and Clear lake are getting high water too.
Here in Channelview winds are now 40 gusting to 55-60.
We need a big hand to come down and push the water and waves down.
I wonder who has a hand that big ????
Oh Yeah works for me !

I'm still OK here. I still have power, digital cable and internet (obviously). They are estimating almost 800,000 in the Houston area without power. The eye is near and OMG...some of the images on tv are scaring me for others in town! Of course, The Weather Channel is on the job, but our local guys are on top of it. One of my faves is myfoxhouston.com

I don't have any local cell numbers other than Justin and I'm hesitant to bother him. Oh, hell! I'm sending a text!

I saw a LOT of tankers heading north yesterday, most with hazmat placards. Looked like companies were either buying stuff to stock up in case production interrupted, that the plants were trying to get as much of it out of the hurricane area, or both.

Has anyone heard from any of the Houston area Maters? I hope everyone is staying safe!
