First national event I ever witnessed was at Bandimere and many more followed. The new track will no doubt be a fitting continuation of the Bandimere legacy - but no matter how spectacular it is it can never replace the original. Just not the same.

Well…. apparently they are actually building the new track. Won’t be the same, but it will be good I bet.

It’s been a very slow process but hopefully we can get a groundbreaking this summer. Very slim chance for a 2027 national event but I think 2028 is reasonable.

I went to Bandimere with Dennis Taylor and the Evil wicked Mean and Nasty funny car. It was raining heavy and they announced that the rain should stop by 3 PM. 2:45 it stopped at 2:45 there were zero spectators in the stands, at 3:30 the stands were packed. they all must have been settling in their cars. LOL John Bandimere told me look a how close the housing is coming too the track it won't be long for the track, and it wasn't. I loved the place and the fantastic spectators.

Such a shame, there will likely never be another track quite like it in terms of setting. I know the scenery looked great on TV, can only imagine what it looked like in person. Truly regret not having been able to get there once.
