I caught that too. all she did was point out that he is qualified on the bottom half and asked were there any issues with his car ?? ...he reacted as if it was an offensive question. they really need to keep force away from the cameras because he is no longer entertaining to watch.
I typically DVR the races (at least let them get an hour in) and fast forward through the commercials AND through any Force-blathering.

Hey guys, meanwhile in OZ we don't have FS1, and No Access sucks, but we do have Burning Wheels and I've just downloaded and watched Quali and Rd1 of eliminations (spoiler alert one upset after the other!) very good to see.
All for free, with no ads and the quality is great and it's up after the race. Not like No Access, wait a week, with no audio.
They shot themselves in the foot. All Access is supposed to be Premium Service right, well it cost me $140 plus all the other stuff. Burning Wheels is there no sweat.

I saw definite improvement in the telecast yesterday from a format standpoint, for sure. I liked the order in which ESPN covered the classes as opposed to how FOX has been up to this point, but I liked it yesterday.

I like Reiff; always have. Tony is better and continues to improve. Do they make some mistakes? Yeah. Hell, he even circled the 330' cone and referred to it as the 60' cone. But not only does it happen, it has happened and will always happen to EVERYBODY on the mic from time to time. 99% of the people critical of them haven't done the job, and if they have, they have made the same types of mistakes this crew does on occasion, so whatever.

The sound syncing screws with me too, but unless I'm crazy, it was only with certain camera angles. From the front (downtrack with the cars coming at you), it was always off, but I swear one time from the side view at the starting line, the sound was dead on. Weird.....

You're right, EVERYBODY makes mistakes. The problem with tony is not the mistakes (that are comical) but the inability to hide or cover up his arrogance. That's what makes me mute the TV not the screw ups.

I'm not a big fan either, Peter. But for me personally, I can honestly say he's not turned out to be as bad as I thought he would be. But he's not even in Dunn's zip code as far as I'm concerned, and I would take him back in the booth in a New York minute.

I think Tony is doing a MUCH better job now that he's relaxing a bit, and not hyperventilating. He'll improve. I'm having no problems watching the show myself. I think they're doing a decent job.

I agree David, the show is fine to me. TPed has improved a lot from where he was last year. FS1 has much better time slots and they start on time (though a couple of them did start a few minutes late this weekend, but nothing major).

It seems to me that the people complaining the most are the same ones who complained the most about ESPN. I just don't think it will ever be good enough for some.

And for the people still crying about Dunn ... He is gone and he ain't coming back. He is the President of the IHRA now, you are just gonna have to get used to that. He does do the commentary on IHRA's webstream, though they have no pro cars this year.

There was even a time last year, iffen I remember right, where the live coverage ran a bit long, and FS1 STAYED with it, and pushed the next show off to FS2. Think ESPN would ever have done that? I think NOT!

(Thank goodness I always set my recorder to extend the time.)

Hi John, are you referring to the FS1 program which we don't get in OZ, or All Access which I had last year, but decided to keep my sanity in '17, so didn't renew it this year. All Access was beset with human error (2hr vod of rain delay and vod's taking a week to be posted) as well as just dumb stuff like you can't hear the cars in '16, A/V Sync's, bad vision, dropped links, power cuts at the track which a genny would fix. The NHRA and that Ken Adelson have ruined it for everyone.
AllAccess sucks too, especially sound. What's up with that? I see YouTubes that have good sound

I think FOX is the holy grail in that they have the $$$ and the say and we can't have better than FOX content going out on All Access or on You Tube. Check out Burning Wheels instead. It's FREE and he has other motorsport up as well.
We can't even get FS1 in OZ, so why not let us have it. No skin off their nose.

I'm waiting for someone to mount a camera on a tripod, aim it at the TV and Facebook share it............oh right someone has already hahha.
254,000 people watched the Mundine V Green fight for free. Up yours Foxtel.
Looked for Burning Wheels, there a mess of them can you post link?

Am seeing the same issues here.

The programs are beginning to start later than scheduled now just like the previous network.

The sound was not sync'd to the video. One time, a pro stock's sound was dubbed under a fuel car. (!!!)
Bruno's mic pics up way too much engine sound when he's around the starting line. The engine sound drowns out him or anything else going on.

The editing needs improving; They linger on the starting line even tho the cars have left it and are out of frame. Action is missed.

On-screen graphics of the incremental numbers are too small and illegible.

Tony is improved, but still struggles with delivery, elocution, and accuracy of facts and details. I concede, it is challenging to do good flowing commentary off the cuff.
Amanda is doing MUCH better than I would expect of a sophomore reporter of the sport. Well done.
John Kernan is good too.

I enjoy that crane camera on the starting line. Also the tech segments they brought back.

Overall, fairly ok broadcasts.

Hhahahaah Yeah I noticed that....they had PS audio running during a Fuel run. Look they are dumbing down for the Neu FS1 crowd, it's a test to see who's listening........lol.
Well if they used the right mics re Bruno that wouldn't happen. "The editing needs improving; They linger on the starting line even tho the cars have left it and are out of frame. Action is missed." Hang on it's a drag race, better stop txt'ing. Look through the viewfinder and follow that thing making lots of noise.

On-screen graphics of the incremental numbers are too small and illegible. What Graphics? The Harleys ran and they didn't show anything.

Dave is carrying the weight, and yes John and Amanda are doing well. Bruno is polished. Those car shows have been a good training ground.

Theres also the Piranha motorsport torrent site he shows all the FS1/NHRA programs inc Alcohol and Pro Mod Add Free.

KODI has some links to FS1/FS2 and others, so they show what ever is on LIVE.

The Piranha is a torrent site, so you have to wait for them to rec the stream then edit it and post etc. Excellent Quality!

Burning wheels is a VOD streaming site so the same thing applies. I use this https://video-download.online/ to download the stream in 1280 x 720, then play it on my Dxtreme media center and onto the big screen upscaled to 1920 x 1080P and it looks GREAT.
The Audio can be a bit hinky at times, but hey that's the NHRA (No Hear Racing Audio) for ya.
Enjoy!

Edit: I should add this has all been made possible due to the actions (or lack of) of the NHRA in Cutting the Cable for all it's overseas fans. For over 20yrs we had the NHRA on Foxtel in Aus, but from 2016 that changed. We get a 55min "Blink and you'll miss it" round up of the Sunday Finals with ads and a lot of Blah blah blah. Thats it. If you want to get people into drag racing, don't show them it. They switch off.

watched first 45 min. of gators yesterday, then had things to do.
- as stated in other thread, sound still does not sinc up
- commentators talking and pit reports is a lackluster beginning to show.....nitro motor thru water into burnout captures attention
- high speed/frame cameras are excellent.
- do not show burnout and begin staging, then interrupt with human interest story. there were two in first 45 min. yesterday.
show the racing, break for a commercial; come back from commercial and show your story, then get back to the racing, and stay with it.
