Great that he's still doing the toy drive, too bad about no car show. I always thought that car show looked good enough to fly out for.

It will be pretty weird not attending Johns car show this year. It's always a lot of fun walking around looking at all the cool hot rods, meeting a lot of my friends that are there every year, and chatting with Alan Reinhart every year at the Double Tree Hotel next to Johns shop. This event always brings in a lot of toys for the children. At least i live close enough to still drop off a toy. My hats off to JFR for putting on such a great event for as long as they did.

I was there with my 1954 Corvette.

Due to the weather the car count may have been held back but the crowd looked very strong to me. Alan Reinhart was the MC, and the band was great. For a second there I thought the Eagles showed up. Then CCR, the Beach Boy's, etc.

I have to say kudo's to all the car owners who braved the weather. I spent a lot of time getting my car ready for the show, and when I woke up at 5:00 AM Sunday to head for the shop to go get it and saw the wet streets I started having second thoughs about going and chancing a downpour on my car. My wife was surprised to see me go. But in my mind this was for the kids, and since there are no parts on my car that will melt if they get wet, I was going.

Turned out it only sprinkled a few times all day. At about 3:00 when they started handing out the awards it started raining. I made it back to the shop safe and sound and spent about an hour or so drying it out.

There was a huge pile of toys collected and I know that will translate in to lots of smiles on Christmas Day. Kudos to the Force camp for putting this all together.

I believe that the Yorba Linda shop is mainly administrative and houses a lot of the Force memorabilia from over the years.

Almost 8 years. It was a piece of junk when I got it.
