The weather for the Finals is usually pretty nice, I remember last year was a scorcher on Sunday. We all know the Winternationals is a different story tho....
It should be good. Pomona usually runs a little behind during qualifying, so If the track temp stays down, I'd think the top fuel cars could try for a national record. Question is.. with every single qualifying point being very important, can you afford to give up some possible qualifying points by smoking the tires going for that 20?? If Dixon can gain just 2 points going into Sunday, that would make a huge impact on the title.
How bout that, we start the season with a Stocker taking out the christmas tree on Thursday and the Races being completed on Wednesday (Pros on Tues) and the weekend being plagued by rain, and a season with so many weather factors and "Extended Dance Remix Versions" of Raceday. We End on a good note FINALLY...hopefully it'll be the foreshadowing of whats to come in 2010 with a total opposite of this year.
Hope the weather is great for you guys there. I'll be monitoring your every move from the sofa in the Carolinas after attending the Blue-Gray 100 in Gaffney SC!
