Just curious cliff, did A gas have motors that big back in the day ?Would like to see mountain motor w the 969 motors. Ya know, mountain motor is as close as it gets to the old A/Gas class.
No. It wouldn't have made any sense to begin with. The minimum weight/CID for A/Gas was 4.00 which would have required a 3850 pound car running a 969. Made a lot more sense to run a 500-something inch engine in a 2500 pound tri-five Chevy or an Anglia.Just curious cliff, did A gas have motors that big back in the day ?
FSS cars run superchargers, no?seems like the preference is to keep the blower off and run as FSS. 20 vs 4 this weekend @ joliet
2024 had (8) factory X and (16) FSS

They're allowed in MMPS now but I don't know of anybody running an engine bigger than about 820-840 or so.
Thanks Alan and Carl, been away from racing for a few years, didn’t know they were that bigI could be wrong but I believe that the Mountain Motor PS class has an 845 CI limit.
The only 900+ class I know of is Nitrous Pro Mod. And of course TS.
Alan
That's what I get for depending on internet articles which clearly stated no limit but there was nobody known to be running anything bigger than 840. That's not the case; should have asked you first.I could be wrong but I believe that the Mountain Motor PS class has an 845 CI limit.

I really wish you were too busy with your drag racing day job, but , man it is good to hear from you replying with your knowledge and insight! Maybe the Mater's can pitch in and start the ARHRA ?I could be wrong but I believe that the Mountain Motor PS class has an 845 CI limit.
