Those tires back in the day were completely different than the Goodyear design of today. Which is one of the reasons everyone "misses" the old school burnouts, but the racers are thankful the new design holds together at 300+.What is interesting to me is all the smoke out of the cockpit. This was before side windows and you'd see this on a long burnout. I also remember one of Maz's cars at the Winternats. Went up in smoke & driver had to shut off cuz he couldn't see. Sironian???
I don't need 1970-80's burnouts, but I'll take the 98-100% nitro, no throttle stop, John Force v Dean Skuza late 90's tire boilers every day.
Another to go back and watch is Cruz and TJ, WOW
