Doubt NHRA has any clout on that.
I was passed by 4 CHP cars but I stayed at 55 mph and they left me alone. I am just shy of 80 feet long combined. I was very nervous but they never looked twice at my rig.

I also heard NHRA struck a deal with CalTrans so the guys could get out of state without hassle ... but everyone is on their own when they come back for the Winter Nationals in February so they got all off season to get the trailers legal.
