I read somewhere that everyone who even had a decal on the car was getting sued. After reading the article, I doubt the plantiffs had a change of heart--sounds more like the lawyers said this is the route to the money. Doubt they can get anything out of Critchley, but the others may be a different deal. Just a bad deal all the way around--lots of lives destroyed, including Critchley's I am sure. Only winners here will be the lawyers

My guess:

Plaintiff's Lawyers: 33% off the top
Families of the dead: 7% each (42% total)
Injured: 22 split the rest (~1% each)
Lawyers paid immediately, balance of payments spread over 20 years. And Troy still has to pay his lawyers...

As noted, the only real winners here will be the lawyers.
