I remember people worrying that we'd end up with 8 car fields decades ago. That's because the sport has only gotten more expensive with each passing year. I doubt it will ever get cheaper, does anything? For the most part, we've seen at least 16 cars in each category, obviously there have been a handful of races where a class fell short. On a positive note, there are more part-timers showing up, more often. You might say they are fillers, but I think they're up and comers. We all have to decide how to spend our money, but I wouldn't not attend a race because there were "only" 16 cars per class, or whatever. I think the racing has been great this year, and there's new blood getting involved. I'm looking forward to Indy.
