Kind of surprised and deeply saddened by the very weak support of the "Go Fund Me" effort on behalf of Billy.

Bob, While I do feel bad for any racer that's hurt or has suffered the loss of something they earn their living with, and I'm a huge Glidden fan, here's a dose of reality: I have my own problems that are a tad more pressing right now. I do the best I can to provide for my own family and money is always an issue. I work hard, my wife works hard and we're doing the best we can to raise our son. I pay my bills, I don't buy new cars or take expensive vacations, nor do I have a huge nest egg or trust account. So while I feel bad that someone I admire has had a bad bit of luck, there's not a whole lot I can do, so quit bitching and move on.

I would hope that anyone who chooses to Drag race for a living , takes into account, that they could very easily get hurt one day and therefore would have some kind of financial provision in place for such an occurrence , as going 200+ mph on constant basis is a very dangerous and risky activity, regardless of how safe a car or track is supposed to be.

Nicely said. The GFM thing is a little over the top in some cases, this being one of them.

It doesn't matter how much money Glidden family has. The fact is he's part of Drag Racing family and when someone gets hurt it plays a huge burden of family, lack of income, medical, etc. . I know this first hand when i got hurt 30 yrs ago the comunity Drag Racers and tracks help us and it made a huge impact on getting our life started again. If you can afford to help do so, and if not don't complain just pray for him and family for his health and safe return to Drag Racing if he decides to do so.

I love the gliddens but yeah, hate to say it but disposable income isn't really a thing in my life right now. I get phone calls every week from charities asking for donations. It happens so often now that I just don't even accept the calls anymore. I just don't have the spare funds.
