Sorry, hate to interject the facts, into an otherwise healthy debate.
But, in being a good friend, of Mr. Miller, he'd asked me to come on here and speak for him.
To those who say his participation is due to a lost election, this is false. In Miller's word, "Elections are won and lost, no big deal." This certainly does not have a role in his decision to sit out Pomona and Phoenix.
What does have a role is the combination of other scenarios. Number one, Miller's team is behind in technology. If you don't have the latest Alan Johnson cylinder heads, you are behind the eight ball before you unload the car. In his words, "I see no sense in coming to a race with outdated technology, and very little chance to qualify."
To rectify this, Millar now has 20 of the AJPE heads.
Secondly, business is down, and we have lost a couple of key employees before the season began, one who joined another team [leaving our shop and team] and another left to pursue higher education.
Prior to the season, we always planned to run 12-races this season, and knowing we wouldn't have the best parts and short on manpower, we planned to open the season in Vegas.
Sorry to squelch the debate, but Bill wanted me to clear up the confusion.
