I have to say I thought the crowds this weekend were way off from in year's past! I guess those $19 Gen. add. Tix didn't make much of a difference!

I'd say based upon the economic climate, things are still pretty good. It's not like we didn't expect to see things softer this year. But, on TV, the crowds so far this year have looked healthy, not record, but healthy, and we're still seeing full pro car fields. Could be a lot, lot worse.

I can only speak for the five people missing from Gainesville this year, and it had nothing to do with economics -- everything to do with 1,000' racing and no cure for it in sight. I guess if you do the math the way NHRA does it, we were 15 people because last year all five of us attended three days.

The $19 GA ticket deal and the $19 a night hotel rooms got me to go.
I was only planning on being there Sunday, but the deals were just too good to pass up.

btw, Thanx to Chris "Mack Daddy" Cook  for the assist on the tickets!

The weather didn't help either ... Friday was arctic ... Saturday was ridiculously windy ... Sunday was the only decent day which produced the only decent crowd.

I would agree on the attendance for both the spectators and racers but there sure wasnt any shortage of people on the strip.

first time in 6 years we did not attend vegas 1 . its our favorite track, but this year driving to events is the only option .ps vegas 2 last fall was complete sell out in reserved section

Not sure this weekend weather- wise is the best for this event
.
Went to the first one, and left Sat (3 cars DNQs or 1st rd RU) accompanied by HORIZONTAL rain - watched Sunday @ home -looked beautiful.

Couple years later - river running under trailer- short program.

Two years ago, wind blown porta-potties sailing down staging lanes.

Couldn't sleep half night in motor home 'cause of wind Thurs this year, etc, etc.

Don't think the locals don't like bad weather either.

(Personally, I don't know why anyone would live there. Phoenix has got to be better.)

Let's see, it's a little cooler than Phoenix, less crowded, better Race Track, the Bars never close, you can get your dry cleaning done or order a pizza 24 hours a day, and I have never seen Las Vegas disappear in a dust storm.

Other than that I know what you mean...................

But! I will admit the weather here is sketchy until about late April to early May.:D
