What irony!

An American of African descendent is about to be inaugerated as President of the United States, the finest golfer in the world is of African descent, in motorsport an Englishman of African descent is the Formula One World Champion (and was awarded the prestigeous MBE by the QUEEN OF ENGLAND- just a tick or two short of KNIGHTHOOD), the most talented motocross rider in the USA currently, is of African descent, and the African American youth of our fair country are DESPERATELY in need of clean cut role models to counter the drug dealers, rapsters and some ball and stick athletes, - although they are "cleaner" than the above two - mostley, that J. R. Todd DOESN'T have a ride.

SHAME ON DRAG RACING!!

Norm Porter

Hey Norm I understand what your trying to say, but it is a bit misguided. You should be more disappointed that the economics of big time racing causes the talent pool to be watered down and that fans are willing to accept it.

I also would prefer that young black men and women see more roll models in their families, as opposed to race car drivers, athletes, movies stars and singers.

Tell him to bring some money to the table then he will get a ride like everyone else. I hate to break it to you but there are a lot of talented drivers that are sidelined do to the current state of the economy who cares if he is African American he is just like the rest them a talented but unemployed driver!
If the African Americans are looking for positive role models tell their fathers to step up.
The best role models for all youths of any race should be their parents since they should have the most influence wouldn't you agree?

What do we have now? The race race? :D

BTW, I disagree with putting anything in front of American if you're born here. I think African American should be reserved for an African who MOVES here. I think that term is racist and unpatriotic.

I agree completely. Unlike other sports, drag racing has been color blind. Lets keep it that way. I NEVER see a person's race as a factor for anything in our sport.

God, Can't people finally get by the race thing.
Black, white, yellow, purple..
Man, were all just people...
