the answer to this question was answered in another thread. angelle said something to effect 'your season isn't starting so good', blake answered 'we won a round last race'

And his interviews Sunday were good. Before racing he said something like “we’ve got it figured out and are good to go…well we hope so”. It was funny and genuine.
When I was at Dallas last year, every time I walked by the Head hospitality he was in there talking to guests. I can see why his sponsors have been with him for quite a while.
I agree, his Sunday interview was good, when the conversation is upbeat and things are going well for him. I was at Pomona and saw the Friday qualifying interview on the track broadcast/bigscreen, and Blake was way off base, with Angelle just doing her job. It wasn’t that tough of a question. Angelle is employed to ask questions, and the sole purpose is for the benefit of the fans. I saw Angelle in the pits Sunday morning - I asked her about the run-in with BA. She said she asked Blake a question that was fed to her by the NHRA broadcast booth, and that it really bothered her when he went off. I also heard it got even worse from Blake when the camera stopped rolling. I told her she didn’t deserve that, and she said she greatly appreciated the support.

Nice that you offered support to Angelle. I also am a fan of anyone that straps in an extremely fast drag car, including Blake, and every driver handles pressure differently. Between 1981 and 2000, when I was making it to 6 or more national events every year, two drivers that I never spoke to were Prudhomme and Kenny Bernstein, not because I wasn't a fan, but they were just so intense and busy , that I didn't want to be disappointed . I found Mark Oswald , Mike Dunn, Tom Hoover, Del, Gary Ormsby Bob Glidden and most others quite friendly when you have some knowledge and appreciation of the danger and stress they go through to entertain us. I always try to be super positive and grateful to the teams and crew guys when they interact, you just have to read the stress level with people and don't bug them when they are thrashing or having a real bad day. Al Hoffman and Warren Johnson were 2 guys that could really be mellow and fun when the days work was done. I always said being at the drags is like Heaven on earth !

anyone think it's unfortunate that questions are scripted? for cryin' out loud, just let the interviewers shoot from the hip,
otherwise when you have manufactured questionS, you get manufactured answers. BORING.

she's doing NHRA TV this year and driving A fuel. I am guessing she will only do the shows when she is not racing. She also does interviews for the To fast to tasty challenge representing Mission foods.

I do think it's unfortunate.
In this case though, a manufactured question got a pure emotional response. And I'm good with that. I'm so sick and tired of hearing the "I love that guy"-"They're a great team"-"Sponsor Sponsor"-"I'm taking it one round at a time and not considering who's in the other lane" crap. Get some raw emotion back into these driver interviews. Never thought I'd say I miss Bazemore, but here we are. Haha!
As far as Angelle having her feelings hurt by Blake's response, I call bull****. She's much tougher than that. And, of all people, she should understand why Blake responded like he did.
