An Indy TEC question

In the afternoon when the sun is on the west side and the photographers move over there, do they block the view of the starting line or is the grandstand high enough up that this isn't a problem? Thanks!

Don't forget that the TEC seats are in an angle and behind the starting line. Most of the view from TEC is smoke and the Sony vision is too far to see. IMO, the best seat in the house is on the west side, section A or B. Yes, photogragphers do get in the way but that's the way it is. To avoid photographers, try sitting at half track. I had a great time at TEC this year, the pavillion came in handy when it rained Sunday morning. I posted some shots from the TEC seat here last week. TEC seating in section C or D would have a better view of the starting line, hope this helps.

We have had Indy TEC tickets for as long as I can remember. I don't ever recall wishing we were sitting anywhere else but we are about 15 rows up so maybe that helps.

If you are thinking about buying Indy TEC tickets I would recommend it.

Yes Bill they do, if you like to sit across from or near the line. Why it takes 50+ to take the same shot, I'll never understand. And it's bad enough they are right next to the wall, then they get up on a ladder to make sure they block you.

I only sat on the west side one time, and that was the last, too many people in the way to even try to take photos plus you are further from the track.

Thanks again, everybody. I try to move around as much as possible at Indy. Spent a day in the new east side grandstand; great location except for the Army rep calling a push-up cadence in the morning and the band playing in the afternoon/evening, both during racing action. @#$%^&&^%$#@! I'll be giving the TEC serious thought for 2010.

TEC is great but now I roam the GA sections with the Mater Nation its funner although I do miss the free drinks

greetings maters,
having been on both sides of the fence shooting pictures, I am always aware of my surroundings and try not to block anyones views, I usually stay at the wall level or below ( "in case something blows up") good luck to those guys on the ladders, I will try and attach a few photos that show you dont need a ladder... and still get the results.... Most of the photogs I have met are pretty cool guys, yes there are a few with huge egos and those are the ones that get in the way...IMHO...

That's just plain awesome, Rich. Absolutely perfect, catch the scene shots without being on a ladder..LOL. For some reason that just strikes me as funny. God forbid something happens to knock one off the ladder.
