Hate to see that happen to the Tatum guys. Also very fortunate the front end didn't get air and get over the wall. Could have been very ugly.

Yes they are on track….i don’t believe conditions are ideal.

And 10 minutes after the original post above, they are scrapping the track mid round after the Tatum incident.

Drying track now, sun is out, for now.

Pro mod cancelled, and eliminations moved to phx. They made one (1) run all weekend.

Alky cars not cancelled (yet). Word is 1st round and move rest to Charlotte.

NHRA needs to do a much better job controlling the weather.
Ok, I'll bite.

They knew coming into the weekend what the weather would most likely be.

They canceled Friday night (no curfew) sportmans. (Dew point was fine)

Saturday was canceled (early) again with no curfew.

They chose to scrape the track mid first round, Instead of doing it before, in the am.

Amen to that Anthony
being an ex racer you sign up for this and the nhra has no control over the weather. NHRA should compensate the teams somehow, think of all the cash that was thrown out the window to be told you are done for the weekend (unless the promod teams agreed because of poor track conditions).

Sad they had to wreck a race car before they looked at the track. 6? Pedalfests wasn’t enough!

Maybe go back to Pomona as it used to be and go to Gainesville mid-March.
About the only way you could whittle down the odds of rain is to move the event to November which is Florida's driest month by a long shot. Hell, it's Florida and rain simply goes with the territory. Gainesville's annual average - actually lower than many other Florida cities - is nearly double what it is for the rest of the country.
