Nice of Shannon to make this tech forum. Now I don't have to clutter the NHRA forum with technical questions...

Anyway, I am interested in learning more about A/Fule cars, but I haven't found any interesting links via google. Does anyone have a link to technical information about A/Fuelers? I am interested in everything from the engine to the drivetrain...

Thanks in advance...

Engine is a Hemi ( most common ), operate on 90% nitro, low RPM compared to the 10,500 RPM Alcohol cars, and easier on parts normally.

No transmission, just slipping clutch like a Top Fuel car.

Pros: Huge torque output, easier on parts if tune up is correct. You don't have to replace springs every run and you don't have to shift gears. Good stepping point to Top Fuel since the staging and launch are similar.

Cons: Finicky, very sensitive to tune up. Easily drops cylinders.

Price difference is quite a bit after you get someone who understands the tune up. Buying a tune up will run 15 - 30 grand. Towing with nitro in your trailer is also a problem for some states.
