Okay, how way late am I on this thread??? LOL!!!

So Many, I don't know where to start. Okay, the two most Memorable of them all, The Lollypop Kid from the Wizard of Oz and the exorcist lady from Poltergeist. Sorry, I'm bad with names, but we should all know their character's.

Met (the Lollypop kid) him and his wife (and we bank at the same bank, even to this day) at Marie Callender's in Toluca Lake. When I lived in LA, we visited all the time when our path's crossed at the bank after I met them that one day.

I met the Little Lady of Poltergeist having lunch one day at Dalt's (Mel Gibson ate there all the time too) while I still worked at Disney, we sat next to each other and chatted all the way through lunch.

Another is Danny Glover. We have the same chiropractor/homeopathic medicine person in LA.

there's so many more, too many to list. LOL!!! Kind of Like Martin, due to the Music, the list goes on and on for music People. Martin if you read this, you're probably finishing up at the NAMM show, obviously, I didn't make it there

Our first trip to Paris, about 15 years ago, we chose a small restaurant a few blocks from our hotel. We were greeted by the owner and shown to our table. While discussing the wine list amongst us, a voice from the table nearby says " If I may, there is a nice wine they serve here which is quite good. It's not a big wine, but very enjoyable. I would be happy to pour you some of mine" A fellow comes over and I look up and it's Omar Sharrif (sp).
He poured us some from his bottle, bowed to our ladies and returned to his table. Didn't have a camera, but welcome to Paris!

I worked as a short order cook at a freeway stop in NE Ohio as a teenager. I cooked dinner for the band Golden Earring one night. I know racers shouldn't be included, but this was away from the track...I cooked for Harold Denton, Rickie Smith and I believe Roy Hill when they stopped one day on their way to a Pro Stock match race at Thompson Drag Raceway.

I met Huey Lewis and his band at the Houston Airport. I met Wayne Brady from "Whose Line is it anyway" in Las Vegas and Drew Carey at a book signing in Cleveland.

More racers away from the track - Bernie Fedderly and Austin Coil on a flight from Dallas to Cleveland and Skuza on a flight from Phoenix. He sat right next to me. We didn't talk much as he was nursing a hangover.

I also ate breakfast at a hotel in Phoenix with Ken Schrader from NASCAR. I didn't realize who he was until that evening when he came in with his whole crew. I thought he was just a nice guy who chose to sit at the table with me and make small talk.

Might be a couple more, but I can't remember right now.

NAMM is this week Nancy... we're shooting the video at The Grove on Thursday and at HoB Sunset on Saturday.. You should try and make it out- I'm sure we can get you a NAMM comp :)

Met Garth Brooks backstage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. He was a super nice guy--just as down to earth as he could be, and this was right after his hit with Friends in Low Places when he was one of the hottest acts in country. Also met Porter Wagoner at the same time and he was an absolute hoot.:)

A few years ago, Larry Shaw owned the dirt track in Batesville, AR and each year he would have a NASCAR driver come in and sign autographs and sometimes even race. He had Schrader one year and he drove a late model car that belonged to some guys I used to drag race with. They said he was just a super guy--walked up, introduced himself, and said "OK guys--what do I need to help with to get her ready to run". They said he dove in and went to work--made a few hot laps and came back in and started making chassis adjustments. Got dirty and the whole deal--they said he was a real racer's racer. And a nice guy to boot.

Oh yeah, I forgot that I met Bill Clinton once when he was just messing with local Little Rock girls. Before he became the prez.

I have a Bobby Orr story too. I grew up in Kingston MA which is right next door to Plymouth. Anyway, right after the 1972 Cup win, my 6th grade teacher says he has a surprise for us. And Bobby walks in. I was in awe. couldn't speak . From 1971-74 I don't think I missed a game on channel 38. I cut out newspaper stories and made scrapbooks and just loved the Big Bad Bruins. I remember I had 45 sized 33rpm record of radio highlights on the 72 cup winning year. I loved listening to that thing. Sure wish I had it now.

I met Barry Green of CART Team Kool Green fame at an Ihop in West Palm Beach Florida a few years ago. He's an Aussie and asked me about my David Grubnic t-shirt. The Thunder from Down Under it said on it. This was back in the Montana Express days I think. I wore it to the Citrus Nationals at Moroso. I asked him if he was going back to the Indy 500. This must have been around 2000-2001.

So that doesn't strictl follow the rules for this thread but since it wasn't at a track and was a complete surprise I 'm counting it. And by the way , he was really nice. I emailed his office and they told me they wanted to send me some shirts. They sent 3 nice golf shirts. I still have 2 of them.

A few racing personalities. 2008 Indy 500 Pole Day - Tom Carnagie (announcer of the 500 since 1946), Chris Economaci (sp?), Helio Castroneves, Ryan Briscoe, Ron McQueeny (IMS & IRL Director of Photography) & Bill Simpson.
Sam Schmidt Foundation Gala (Monday after qualifying) - Mario Andretti, Danica Patrick, "Mad Max" Papis, Jason Preistly & Morgan's girlfriend (;)).
Quite a weekend.

OK, I met Pee Wee Herman and the band Toto in the same day. I was a senior and we were in San Antonio for a Drill Team competition. Pee Wee had just finished filming the Alamo scene in Pee Wee's Big Adventure. He was walking into the Alamo Inn just as our bus unloaded. We laughed. No seriously....my friends dared me to walk up to him and do the infamous Pee Wee laugh. So, I turn around and Toto was checking in. So, me being me....I had to go introduce myself.

Um, we were drinking Tickled Pink wine on our bus on the way. Ah-hem...yep. I was a tipsy teenager. ;)

Oh, and I waited on Hakeem Olajuwon when I was working at Chili's in '89. Super cool guy and an excellent tipper!

Ooooh....had breakfast at Denny's one early, early Sunday morning with Chris Dishman (ex Houston Oiler).

Also, while working at Chili's I waited on Mickey Gilley on a regular basis. What an ass! His son and nephew were regular customers of mine, so I got stuck with the obnoxious, self-obsorbed SOB. UGH!

Mario & Michael Andretti, Paul Newman, Nigel Mansell,(more of a hi how are you?) Robby Gordon(nice guy)Bill Elliott,REALLY nice guy,we were working on our car at a race he was at & he was just standing there looking at our car,I turned around & he was just standing there. BS'd a bit & he said I better not bother you guys & left.A couple months ago I was standing in line at a truck stop & Arlo Guthrie was in line next to me.I did not want to bother him as he was ordering a sub sandwich. His tour bus was getting fuel.
