List of people who would be in line in front of Whit if only they were to "land a sponsor":
Jim Head
Phil Burkhart
Jeff Arend
Dean Skuza
Daniel Wilkerson
Anyone in TAFC
Timmah
THAT ROCKS!!!! Thx Mr. Williams! But, I’d like to add a few people on that list...
hmmm.....
Rapid...
Erica Ortiz
Mike Minick (the family name returns to the Pro's!)
Bobby Bennett...(dude would drive a flopper if given the chance..)
Alan Reinhart...(REMEMBER THE JIM HEAD THREAD LAST YEAR!! I'm sure he would not "pass up the seat if offered...")
Mendy Frey, who is just an awesome driver, and great person!
The funny thing about the people on this list, and the ones you included is the following:
a) They all could actually do it! Meaning they have the SKILLZ it takes to do physically and mentally drive a Fuel Flopper
b) They have the professionalism and charisma it takes to promote a sponsor and take care of the fans
c) Have the Courage to do it...and the Passion and dedication needed to excel at doing this for a living.
d) Most importantly, they all LIVE the old saying... "WIN WITH RESPECT....LOOSE WITH DIGNITY"
It's no secret that I don't really think all that highly of Whit's "Act". I have always tried to give people the Benefit of the doubt, as No body is perfect, and I am defiantly not without faults. From the stories I have heard from many people, he is actually a very giving and caring person. The thing that bothers me, is that it does not match his "PUBLIC PERSONA". I'm not saying that he does not appreciate what he has done for a living for so many years. I'm not him, I do not know him very well, but everyone on that list would most likely Wake up every morning and thank God for the PRIVLEGE of driving a Fuel Funny Car every weekend! If we loose a race, we would walk up to the other racer, shake their hand and loose with CLASS. I really can't say whether Mr. Bazemore has the same appreciation for this "HONOR", but going to the "MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY" card does not inspire me to jump on the Whit bandwagon fan club. I've always respected people who are HUMBLE. Whit say's what's on his mind.. he wears his heart on his sleeves, and THAT I CAN RELATE TO, and I respect that about him. He is also a very good Flopper driver. But, at the end of the day, the person who earns my respect, is the person who is penitent.
