Jenn..........I put in a good word with Terry for ya! It may take 7 months to get your corn, but he threw in some bonus goodies for us having to wait so long! Very thoughtful!!!:D

Can you possibly top the good word of Bambuzas? :p

Seven months will be...February? Is corn in season then?

haaahahahahaa! It is funny, my Mom and I were standing there talking to my Aunt and all of a sudden she said "Where the hell did you get the Bazumba's from? It certainly wasn't my side of the family"!!! We have laughed about that for 25 years! And here it is today, the name of a jet and a corporation!!!

The corn I got is dried. it is popping corn. Grown for Jiffy-Pop! Terry said I could put it in the microwave and it would pop. I am keeping mine dried for good luck (like the Buckeye's, these are the Husker's):D

For lunch I took my mum out to lunch at the grand lux cafe.

Back on topic...

Whit my not be one of my favorite drivers, but there's no doubting his skill. He would be in his glory if he had his own car and called his own shots.

Girl.....I always get told that I got them all and left none for the other ladies! LMAO!

Hey, Jenn! Want me to put you on the corn waiting list? As of now you are in the "next to be delivered" position. But seeing as my corn delivery is nearly as prompt as Ashley Force's reaction to a yellow bulb, it may be a while, but I will keep you in mind!
By the way, as a student of linguistics in college (many years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth--) in fact I used to answer the question of how long I have been racing by saying I got my first round win against Noah (the ark didn't leave very hard, but it ran like Jack the Bear on the top end!) but got beat that day in the semis by Moses (I ran good, but Moses really had it dialed--he had a terrific log book--only 10 runs in it and pretty heavy being stone and all, but the info in his logbook really turned out to be words to live by!!!) language patterns etc are always of interest to me. My associate here at work, Marianne, is from Puerto Rico and went to college at Iowa State--I tell her she has that Boriqua/Ioweejun accent! She tells me that I said Boriqua wrong! Anyway, is your last name pronounced "harameeo" or is it more anglocized and the Ls are hard? Just curious, and boy did I ramble getting to it, huh? Yep, if you read all of this you definitely deserve some corn!

Roll the r, till it sounds a little like a d.

Har-a-me-yo or hadameyo if you say it like a real chicano!

There is a racer named Danielle Jaramillo who pronounces it Jar-A-Mill-Oh.

We had met her when she was a junior racer and we were racing in Kansas (I hate Kansas). A few years ago when I was in Great Bend, I heard an announcer say "Jar-a-mill-oh" so I rushed up to the tower and told them..."har-a-me-yo". I heard them announce it my way when my brother ran and then the wrong way when my dad ran (like 5 pairs later). So I rushed up there to tell them "It's pronounced the same way for both of them".

Little while later, I heard them say "Jar-a-mill-oh" again, so I rushed back up there and met a lady in the hallway who was complaining that she had been up here at least 3 times and they still couldn't pronounce her daughters name...Danielle "Jar-a-mill-oh"

And then it clicked.

This whole thread has been jacked!! From Whit, to bazoombas, to linguistics, it's gotta make a thread lo-jacker like me proud!!:D:D

Kelly, maybe you can call Trace, and he can re-do Honkey-Tonk Badonkadonk...

The Chorus line

'Oompa, Loompa, big bazoombas'

That's all I got....I will simply bow, and let someone else take it from here...

That's a super story! I frequent Great Bend quite often. I'm basically straight north of Great Bend in good ol NE. I'm not a big Kansas fan, but I really do like the people I have raced with from there. They are so generous and thoughtful. I broke a park pawl in my glide one time down there in the last time trial before the jackpot race. The gentleman pitted next to me came over and said, I've got parts at my house. Wanna go get them? I said ,sure, and hopped in his pickup. When we turned out of the race track onto the highway, he turned left instead of right. I said don't you live in Great Bend? He said No, I live in Larned, Kansas. I asked him how far that was--he said about 60 miles. I told him he'd miss the jackpot if he took me to get the parts. He said, we'll see, if I get back in time I'll race.
Long story short, we got to his house, got the part, got back to the track as Rd one was finishing up. He would not accept any payment for the trip or the parts, so I said, Hey, I'll pay your entry and buyback for the jackpot and you can get in as a first round loser. He was just barely willing to accept my offer but he did. I went back and got my car put back together to be able to run in the 1500 to win race the next day, and believe it or not, my new friend won the Sat night jackpot. And I was lucky enough to win the 1500 race Sunday. Great people to race with in Kansas. Harley Carr, if you happen to read this for some reason, thanks again!

We have done a rather good job, haven't we? And Alan, I think we have a real hijack prodigy in Jenn! She will do us proud, I think!

And to think that I used to get accused of thread hi(lo)-jacking all the time. You ALL have done me proud! LOL

Kelly, l'm sure I speak for Alan, Jenn, Suzie, and a host of others when I say "Thank you, and thanks for recognizing the quality of a good lo-jack"
