Prudhomme, Garlits, Beck, Muldowney, Lucas, Glidden, Leong, Bernstien, Kalitta, Jenkins ?
The naming right for Lucas Stadium was $121 Million,.... remember, he seems to put most of his money in the NHRA.....

Also forgotten in all of this is the fact that he is listed as the official starter for the race, NOT as an NHRA legend. Get it right.
Definitely WJ, even Tom Hoover would have been an excellent choice.Yeah, Brainerd obviously doesn't rate a legend, I'm kinda dissapointed, you'd think WJ would've been a good choice as a legend in Minnesota...
Yes, but part of that deal was that all Indiana State vehicles from plows to police cars, have to buy and use Lucas Oil products. Forrest is a very savvy business man, and does a lot to help out the racers in several different motorsports. He deserves to be recognized.

Guess it depends on what day it is which side of the fence you are on. Two weeks ago it seemed the choosing of Lucas as the "Legend" --- wait now he is the "Honorary Starter" --- was a bad thing... today in this thread everyone is defending Lucas.
I thought they were choosing "legends" to start each race..... Just sayin..
Nothing against Lucas, like Mike Said "us fans
in the upper midwest are lucky to have his name associated with and sponsoring
the BIR nat. event." I just thought choosing WJ or Tom Hoover would have been more appropriate when compared to those who have already been chosen thus far.
If whoever makes the choices wants to choose an "honorary stater", then there's no better choice then Forrest Lucas and I wont' complain.
