Alan has said he works where he is assigned. Some days that’s top end (I enjoy his interviews down there), and some days he is asked to work the tower. He is best in main tower in my opinion. Alan goes where Alan is asked to.

Didn't see or hear from him today so I assume he is not here.

We know where he is but not quite sure what he’s doing. Sometimes top end, sometimes calling the race. Wonder what next season brings. An NHRA effort to somewhat combine roles with Lohnes? Was this a tryout for Galvin? I still can’t buy that the current state is something he wants. Worked his way to announcer and has decades of experience/talent. Standing in the hot sun at top end all day prob isn’t that much fun.

Alan was in the booth on Saturday in Las Vegas. Only on Saturday which is unfortunate to me, because I couldn't understand anyone else that was doing it. Being at the track means we're stuck with those tinny speakers pointed at random reflective surfaces so you get everything several times in a few milliseconds.

Alan has a wonderful voice, it's resonant with great diction, as well as what's already been said here, he knows his stuff.

Nothing against the other guys but damn I wish he could just be in the booth.

A lot of us here have probably dealt with some form of dialing down the work and doing some mentoring, if the new scenario is of his choosing I wish him the best. I hope he is well.
