What would you change in the NHRA?

So be it, If all they sponsor for is Hospitality. Sponsors are there to support the racing AND get exposure to their product.

NOT

Racers are their to Support the Sponsor and race.

Although both go hand in hand. But the bottom line is its a DRAG RACE not a sponsor op. You don't see it advertized as:

Sunday, Sunday Sunday at Detroit Dragway come see the Castrol Tent and the NAPA trailer. Also appearing is the Fram-Autolite Young Drivers.

and oh by the way their may be some racecars also.
I don't see any problem with a company paying for a spot for hospitality next to their race team. It brings more money to Nhra, it keeps more people employed, and if a sponsor is investing the kind of money they do, then they should not have to be stuck at the end of the track. I also don't see any negative affect a hospitality would have on any fans, or any other racers.

if we're still on the 'pit row' subject, i'd do away with the corny display
that says 'nitro alley' and other than some concerns about direct marketing
to fans i'd say pit row is handled fairly well, especially trying to park that
same circus at 20+ different layouts.
Mike you are right. The Nhra does a great job parking everyone.

you guys make some excellent points. as far as what you said lol ask some team owners and i bet they gripe because i'm not saying i know, but it seems like from the outside it the front wheel of the rig is 1 inch too far in one direction, the nhra starts an issue. It seems that they have strict pit parking rules

Are we there to race or provide Hospitality. As for negative impact ask any racer that has been pitted out in the mud with their racecar, While some hospitality tent has 2 acres of space on pavment.
I'm sure your answer will be "Well they payed for it" Well so does the racer who's pitted in the dirt.

Pits are for race cars and haulers not the circus side show hospitality has become.Yes there is a place for Hospitality "Not the Pits" Just because they can pay for doesn't make it right. Thet could pay for a stripper pole in the pits also, or a rodeo, or bridal show, does that mean they should be there?

As for more money to NHRA. Do you really think they need it? Do you really think it filters down to any subordinate employees. Give Me A Break!!!
