VmpWhich track has the smoothest surface, least or no bumps, etc?
Which tends to be the most consistent for both lanes?
Definitely the Motorplex!Isn’t the Texas motorplex known for being the best surface? It sure used to be. Every inch is post tension concrete, so it’s essentially a billiard table.
But Bristol isn't that old, right? Wasn't that track completely rebuilt maybe 20 years ago? Isn't the new track on top of the old track? With that in mind though, one wonders why it is so rough today? As far as the worst track, that’s gotta be Bristol. I love that old track, I’ve been there three times. But that old girl is rough. I wouldn’t be surprised if NHRA just doesn’t run there anymore, considering that nearly every team in the fuel classes loses an engine on each pass.
This is the new track, but that track has always been rough from what I can remember. The track is sinking where the spectator tunnel is, I think it’s about 400’. They tried pumping it up by injecting sand or something under the surface, they’ve smoothed it with a grinder back btw. 2023 and 24, and it may have helped a little bit, but it’s still really roughBut Bristol isn't that old, right? From what I gather, you’re right.Meet the new track same as the old track? Lol
