Salinas was very lucky he didn't lay that thing over. TV missed the shot on the initial run but had it good on replay. You can sure tell the shutdown area needs some attention. Funny Cars were bouncing around all over. ALEXA over Hagen was huge and TV captured the moment for Capps well.

Steve and Ferre hugging after Steve’s win. Greg dominating pro stock all weekend. He was best every single round. I’m an Erica fan, But Greg earned it. Seeing Erica and Freeman give Greg props for his hard earned championship. That monster 5.10 TAD by mcphillips (think that’s the right guy). Karen getting her first 200 mph PSB run. Lots of high lights

It was a great day at the track. Great weather and a good crowd. Easily the crowd favorite was Cameron and his EMPI sponsored TF. Great job Paton family. Awesome tow vehicle too!
-Alexis D. did a throttle whack just as we walked up. That never gets old. Thanks Del and Nicky. Three motor police officers strode up thinking they could handle the nitro and throttle whack. That lasted 3 seconds.
-Karen (the good kind of Karen) Stoffer and WAR racing really had that Suzuki screaming. Suzuki had a huge display in an otherwise sad expo area. We are going to see a ton more Suzukis next year.
-That Oklahoma team's attempts to jimmy the qualifying failed. Congrats to Greg and KB Racing.
-The Karmen Ghia and the candy apple red corvette in Super Stock were gorgeous. Big John Mazmanian would have been jealous.
-The wheelstanders were MEH. Bring back Wild Bill and the LA Dart.
-I paid $61 for 4 hotdogs and two drinks. GA seats were $66 and parking was $15
-Most interesting was Camping World signage or lack of it. We sat at around 900' today and I dared my wife to see if she could spot a Camping World sign. She couldn't. CW was mentioned on the PA but not with much frequency or enthusiasm. Also, no jumbo checks for the World Champions. The celebrations seemed muted and produced with less enthusiasm than was observed in the past.

Aside from the inappropriate political messaging, it was a great day in the CA sunshine.

1. Greg winning the Championship and the race for #99. Hard to imagine winning the championship, coming back to the pits to work on the car-he was loading the tuneup for both his car and Kyle's just before they had to rush to the staging lanes, then cutting a good light to win on a hole shot.
2. Karen finally getting her 200. Spoke to her Sunday morning and she was bummed coming so close in Q4. Wish she could have won the race.
3. Salinas-that was scary in person. As Alan said, that's got to be as far as you can tip one without it going over. Can't imagine what was going thru Mike's mind as that unfolded.
4. Ron Capps winning championship #2, while he had 100 friends and family sitting in general admission seats watching!

Great way to end the season.

Capps of course was a real highlight. And lets not forget the weather. it was terrific. it was warm by the third round but never uncomfortable.
Greg and Erica put on a great show.

One of the day's oddities in my opinion was Alexis' defeat of Hagen which handed Capps the championship - which was genuinely up for grabs - and after the race not one word was said about her. Capps didn't (he mentioned Del Worsham), she wasn't interviewed afterwards, nothing. So I'll thank her for them.

Way to go; Alexis...you've put on one hell of a show as of late with your #1 qualifiers and final-round appearances and nitro FC racing is the better for it. I know you gotta be loving it. I hope RC treated your family to steaks afterwards but in case that didn't happen, I know this really good restaurant.... LOL

Enjoyed the Dom Lagana interview right after Torrence won the race. Really good to see him getting back to enjoying life. What a fighter.

i'm both a pro stock fan and i can be very petty, so for me the highlight was, when i thought i heard erica wish matt hartford a happy 'Mother Father' day, after he made her wait, on the starting line ! :p

LOL :D

She called him an MF alright as she coasted to the turnout but it damn sure wasn't Father. Lohnes even apologized for it.

To me, it is funny car and what class acts Ron Capps was in winning, and what a class act Hagen was in coming in second. The big Shoe lost Hagen but still has Capps. I'm sure he is VERY happy about the outcome.
Capps is gone as well. It will be announced the first day of the PRI show.

I have met both Greg Anderson and Erica Enders a couple times, both were easy to talk to and had time for the fans. But I lost quite a bit of respect for Enders after what she said yesterday.
I thought she was very religious with all the "Glory To God" comments she makes after she wins a race, then she's the Devil In Disguise when she looses.
I understand a person (including me) says or does things in the heat of the battle and the F* bomb is used by everybody now a days, but she should've kept her frustration to herself with the whole world watching and listening. Kudos to Anderson winning. I predict 105 Pro Stock wins for Anderson by the end of next season.
I agree with everything everybody has said in the previous comments, especially not a word about Alexis.

Capps is going to own the current team he drives for, sorta like what Antron is doing. Team will still be based out of Schumacher's shop in Brownsburg. This leaves Don with only one team, his son's T/F car.

Where is he going? Inquiring minds want to know.
Capps was on the Drag Illustrated/Wes Buck show last Wednesday and dropped hints of what was going on. He mentioned being a team owner and leasing space from Don Schumacher. You can find it on You Tube. It’s an interesting show.

Congrats to Capps. When he won, I thought ‘Hey, couldn’t happen to a nicer guy’. And then it struck me that I could be saying the same of just about anyone in FC. They are all great competitors but respectful and appreciative of they chance to do this.

As for Erica, I guess all glory is hers.

You are right Mark. The celebrations were muted. The NHRA president has ALWAYS done the presentation of the championship trophy with a short speech but Cromwell just does a handshake below the stage ? What's with that ?

I'm guessing it was because of the TV window as they had to hustle to make the 4pm window. Also, if he does a speech it delays getting the driver back to the pits, especially important for guys like Anderson and Matt Smith who work on their cars/bikes.
